I have a similar problem here.
I have recently purchased the “Total VI MAX v2” bundle, and I’m also not able to authorize a particular VI library, namely SampleTron 2. I kept re-installing, re-authorizing, re-scanning all of my IK content and its target folders the whole weekend long, but without any success. For whatever reason, the authorization for that single remaining product isn’t successfully performed, even though it should be native part of the purchased “MAX v2” bundle.
After having a closer look at the downloadable sources which have been provided by IK Product Manager, I could also spot the 4 dedicated installers for SampleTron 2; these are representing a portion of the very big “SampleTank 4 MAX” download package which belongs to that bundle. The IK Product Manager also works as intended; all content is being extracted and saved automatically to the specified target folder, including SampleTron 2. So far so good. The only problem is, that the product itself can’t be used in the end; IK keeps claiming that additional authorization is necessary. This is really weird and not comprehensive.
Even after having re-entered all content paths within SampleTank 4 and having re-built its SQL database several times completely, the SampleTron 2 library isn’t accessable from there. The product only presents its icon with an overlayed “lock” sign on it. When clicking on the icon, I just get forwarded to my own IK account without any further information on how to claim that obviously missing license. That particular product is simply not available as a separate instance in the account. For me this seems to be clear, as that product has been delivered as part of the “MAX” bundle as already explained and proven above. Neither the account’s “Software” section, nor the “Sounds” section will ever show it. The remaining question for me is why that product is officially included in the product bundle, but not working in the end. Did I eventually receive the wrong serial key, perhaps applicable to an older “MAX V1” version? I’m somehow confused.
But there is also something else that is very strange. I have also verified the advertized product specs by looking at Thomann’s website (from where I have purchased that bundle). While clearly referring there to a “Total VI MAX v2” bundle (mentioning version 2 explicitely), it also describes the fact that it should include 7 VI-based plugins. Well, in my case I can only count 6 of those:
- Pianoverse MAX
- MODO BASS 2
- MODO DRUM 1.5
- SampleTank 4 MAX (which should obviously refer to v2)
- Miroslav Philharmonik 2
- Hammond B-3X
And yes, my purchased “MAX v2” bundle also includes an AmpliTube 5 CS product. However, this isn’t even a full version, and most of all, it cannot be considered a “VI” plugin, because VI stands for Virtualized Instrument and not Virtual FX. In the end I wouldn’t care anymore, if I’d just receive my expected SampleTron 2 license in order to run the purchased content as expected. After all, it doesn’t make any sense to get 8 GB of SampleTron 2 related data automatically installed by IK Product Manager, getting it even presented in the GUI, but not being able to use it in the end as expected. For me this is weird and not acceptable, that’s why I will claim to receive that missing license. I already opened a ticket a few days ago, so I hope I will get any response from IK soon.
