First, try switching to a different USB port or using another USB cable. If that doesn’t fix it, right-click the software and run it as an administrator—this updater needs admin permissions to work properly.
Still having trouble? Before going any further, double-check if your device is already updated. When you power it on, hold down the A, B, or C pads. If any of them light up right away, you’re already good to go.
Important: Don’t use any USB hubs or extensions. If you’re on a desktop, plug directly into a USB port on the back of your computer.
If it’s still not working, try this:
-
Open Windows Task Manager and go to the Services tab
-
Click Services or Open Services
-
Find Windows Search, right-click it, and stop it (if it’s running)
-
Right-click it again, go to Properties, and set Startup Type to Disabled (make sure to remember the original setting so you can switch it back later)
-
Confirm the service is stopped and disabled
-
Now right-click the updater and run it as administrator
-
Turn on your BlueBoard while holding down the D pad, then continue with the update as usual
-
You might see a file explorer window pop open and close a few times—just leave it alone
If everything works and the update finishes, go back into Services and set Windows Search back to its original startup setting.
