TONEX Board is here! The complete TONEX rig with AmpliTube effects, advanced routing, and touchscreen control

Adding another couple of quick requests here just because I’m sat at the PC noodling around with the Board -

  • Would be really great to be able to toggle a split block on and off with a footswitch, I can’t seem to be able to find a way to make that happen at the moment. Can’t add any of the split or mix parameters to a scene either, so I can’t do it that way.
  • An automatic on for the wah would be nice, so that it engages when the pedal is moved then disengages after a few moments when it’s still or left in a rest position, that’s something I enjoy on other devices.
  • Some extra MIDI accessible macros would absolutely transform the versatility, at the moment the MIDI features are a bit sparse, and there’s no way to bypass effects over MIDI that I can find other than mirror one of the built in footswitches, which is a bit redundant. Some MIDI accessible extra scenes would be nice too.
  • Insert obligatory “More effects please” here!

Other than that, well done IK team, I think this is the easiest device I have ever had to dial in a great sound with even without the PC editor. Really looking forward to how the Board develops in the future.

@Peter-IK

I Have a question about the Pitch Shifter.

Way does the Stereo Pitchshifter behave link the Mono Pitchshifter?

Shouldn’t have the ST version different settings options for left and right?

Haven’t updated the Board yet. Will this be fixed? Or is this normal with the ST Pitchshifter?

Thanks for help on this.

And another think happens, which shouldn’t be, I guess.

I have the amp in path A, split the signal after the amp and have my cab in path B.

When I load a new amp, the cab stays the same. In amp browser, the check is to load the matching cab, but it doesn’t.

@boz52 There are a few amps of each Brown Sound collection included.

Thank you for your reply. I’m waiting for my Board to be delivered on Monday.

Any upgrade or trade-in opportunities for existing TONEX owners?

I’ve bought two TONEX pedals within the last year, each in roughly the $600 range, so I already have a meaningful investment in the platform.

Now that the new-generation pedal is around $1,000, I’m interested, but I’m having a hard time justifying putting another $1,000 into TONEX when the previous hardware seems to have very little resale value.

With a lot of other modelers, there’s at least a reasonable used market that lets you recover part of your investment when you move to the next generation. That doesn’t seem to be the case with TONEX hardware.

Has IK mentioned any kind of:

  • Trade-in program

  • Loyalty discount

  • Upgrade pricing for registered owners

  • Credit for recently purchased TONEX hardware

I’m not expecting full value back on older gear, but I’d like some protection for the money I’ve already put into the platform before investing another $1,000.

I like TONEX and would prefer to stay with it. I just don’t want each hardware generation to feel like a throwaway investment.

Has IK said anything about this?

TONEX hardware users get $/€100 off TONEX Board automatically. You can save even more with the JamPoints earned from your existing purchases to take off up to $/€300 using JamPoints for 30% off.

I would suggest reaching out directly to IK Support who can assist you with that issue.

The €100 discount cannot be combined with jampoints, is that correct?

Thanks

Can someone please confirm what is the “real” (regular + peak) power consumption of the tonex board ?
Thanks

Correct, maximum JamPoints is 300 (30% off), the $/€100 off is via a coupon code and those cannot be combined with JamPoints.

ok thanks Peter for the confirmation

I figured it out. Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I agree. Oh blimey!

@DC_IK Hey, I love the product. I am having issues unfortunately and they strantely seem to be getting worse. Despite purchasing expansion pack such as ODS Legends, the software treats an increasing number of presets as if they were not included in the purchase. I’m prompted to try or buy and I get that hiss sound periodically. Refresh library isn’t working, signing in Restore Purchases does nothing. This was one preset that was acting strange, but now there are many presets across all of the expansions I’ve purchased, and the number seems to be growing. Please help.

Thanks so much!

I love the concept, but I feel it’s missing something like a doubler (like Mimiq, Endgame, etc.), a parametric EQ, and a phase aligner; I hope it gets these in the future, as that is the reason I haven’t bought it yet.

The TONEX Board looks really great. I am super close to making the purchase, but I have 1 thing that is bugging me. The MIDI controllability is very limited compared to the TONEX Pedal. Most of the MIDI CC messages do what the existing switches do. If I invest now, is there a decent product enhancement roadmap for adding advance MIDI CC control like in the TONEX Pedal? Also, id there an overall roadmap documented somewhere?

There is a 3 band parametric EQ (the Pre EQ III effect, why they named it that I have no idea!), phase alignment isn’t automatic but the cab section now includes an offset so easy to fix manually if there are phase issues, and as for the doubler… good point, it could do with one!

A doubler isn’t an effect I use often, but the one in my Endgame was incredibly addictive.

The doubler from the Dimebag collection is nice… I’ll have to see if that’s slated to come over, or some variant/comparable unit.

I can’t seem to get the midi CC command for button a b and C to work. I emailed support I think its a glitch. Using Morningstar mc6 mkii. Capable of sending 16 commands all in one switch. So I’m trying to use it to go from scene mode to stomp mode and activating stomp switch a b or c. The CC commands for mode selection work just fine anything else I try to do to initiate ABC don’t. Reason I’m doing this is because I do have songs that have more than three scenes so I wanted to use a Stomp. Trying to not have to push Ctrl and the stomp activation requires an extra switch. Always trying to limit my toe tap dancing. You would think it would be able to do this

For those having issues getting TONEX Signature Collections on to their TONEX Board, in the Amps Browser you should see this:
