Have you got an impressive pedalboard? From signal-to-noise ratio be damned to most efficient signal path ever, from meticulous cable management to… well, many of us know what the opposite looks like, show us what you’ve got!
Quite the endorsement of all that kit! I’d love to know the backstory.

TONEX Pedal Survives Tornado
Must have a been a great show!
Simple and compact, built around one idea: minimal setup, maximum efficiency.
- TONEX handles amps and FX
- Polytune for tuning
- DigiTech Drop
- Stereo DI for output
- Custom switch for lead boost (hoping future TONEX Editor updates will allow editing macros directly in the app)
Less is more.
Looking to add a TONEX cab soon!
I have the Drop too. I got the Poly Shifter because I don’t like using a capo.
Here’s a picture of my little pedalboard; the order is as follows:
Tuner - Drop pedal to lower the pitch by an octave, Plethora X1 with its pitchifter for glitch mode, from there it goes to the Mimiq Doubler, its two outputs each go to a Tonex One with captures from my two high-gain amplifiers, and from there to a KMA Endgame with two high-quality IRs I created at 96kHz.
Small but it works like a charm.
That’s a really interesting setup, especially the dual Tonex into the Endgame with your own IRs, very cool idea!
I’m curious about the Plethora X1: how are you finding it in real use? I’ve had my eye on it for a while, especially for pitch/glitch stuff.
I guess I’m a weirdo, but I love things like IRs or captures because I can make my own. Of course I love download other people’s captures and IRs, but I end up using my own.
About the Plethora X1 I bought it because it was cheap and had a lot of effects I like. I have several glitch pedals and I never thought I’d like the Brainwaves because of its bad reputation. Ironically, the fact that it sounds awful is what I’ve ended up liking because of the kind of music I play.
So in the end I use the Brainwaves on the Plethora X1 and I’ve sold the other pedals I used to make glitches, which paradoxically are more expensive.
Niiiceee, I also got two tonexes + Kma
I’m wondering, Whe not to use Kma doubler? Am I missing something by not using mimic before amps?
Do you mind sharing your ir’s and captures?
Hi, first I dont like the KMA doubler, sounds “well” if you are playing the two doubled guitars at the same time, but if you isolate the doubled guitar sounds horrible, the mimiq well used is simply amazing. I use the KMA for the stereo setup, the amazing power amp sim and for the great quality IR´s.
Now I make a changes on the setup, here is the pic:
Tuner to Lehle p-split, the outputs of the lehle goes to the Tonex One pedals, the first Tonex goes directly on the eq 2, the second Tonex goes to the Mimiq (effect at 100%, dry guitar at 0%) and after mimiq to the eq 2, the eq 2 helps me with the tonal balance, finally and after some experiments I decided to use the Plethora X1 for compress the low end of the High Gain guitars and finaly the EndGame with the KT88 power amp mode and 96khz quality IR´s, the guitar on the left is ultra tight and the guitar on the right side is more fat and ugly.
The guitars are tuned in A standard, if you want hear the guitars I have two songs upload on Bandcamp:
I use these setup for the guitars, maybe you can hear diferences between the two songs but mostly they come from the composition; the EQ is practically identical with only minor differences.
I can share the captures, but not IR´s sadly because are pay IR´s, by the other hand, I don’t know how they’ll work on guitars with higher tunings, plus I use chrome flatwound strings so they’ll probably sound very harsh, although equalizing the captures might fix that.
Thank you, and if you have any questions, please let me know.
PD: I love Tonex
Own the full-size Tonex Pedal as well, but changed to the “One” as soon as it was released.
For live shows with my VH Tribute Band, I only use two amp sounds at the moment.
Which are my own captures of the EVH 5150III 100 watts head.
Blue channel for most of the time, red only for solo.
All post fx are done with the MS-3 and this setup is a full wet/dry/wet setup.
IR simulation for FOH and Inear is done with AMT Electronic unites in my rack, sitting right beside my power amps for real onstage cabinets.
Just to make sure I understood correctly - when you say “isolate the doubled guitar”, do you mean soloing one of the doubled channels (left or right) to hear how realistic it sounds on its own?
Which effect do you use in the Plethora X1 to compress the low end of the high gain guitars?
Would be cool if you share the captures and links where you bought IRs ![]()
“when you say “isolate the doubled guitar”, do you mean soloing one of the doubled channels”
Exactly!!!
“Which effect do you use in the Plethora X1 to compress the low end of the high gain guitars?”
If I remember correctly it was the Hypergravity Compressor; it’s difficult and counterintuitive to configure, but it works very well.
“Would be cool if you share the captures and links where you bought IRs”
I’ve updated to the new Tonex 2.0 and I’m still not exactly sure how to upload the captures. As soon as I figure it out, I’ll upload them and I’ll also look into the two IRs I’m using and give you the websites of their respective creators.
Thank you for your interest!!!
I added the captures of the KSR Ceres & Vesta with the fortin 33 on the ToneNet, search the last captures of these on my profile KSR Ceres & Vesta
