What OS are you on and which version are you downloading (for Mac or Win?)

I’ve run into a problem where only the signature collections load correctly in version 2 and nothing else. I have tried restoring purchases and also refreshing the library several times. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Ive saved the Tonex folder from my documents and compared it to the folder in documents after the upgrade. No difference in the file sizes or number of items in those files so the expanded 200 tones aren’t being delivered either and yes, I have Tonex max. I like the new format you have created but unfortunately, I’ve had to revert to the previous version in order to use 90% of my tones.
Your tones should transfer over. The instructions state that you should back up too, just to make sure you did so you would be able to revert fully.
However, I have to point out that Restore Purchases is for your purchased gear like Signature Collections.
What the new version will do is a Library Refresh. It should happen automatically but something may have happened in your case. It can be done manually so if you go back to the beta and still don’t see your presets etc you can do this:
Great work with ToneX 2. I didn’t find any TONEX MAX collections in the Collections browser, despite the Signature and Partner Collections being listed.
What does the “Chain Type” column (“Serial”) mean in the Presets Browser?
I deleted everything TONEX from my system and started new. I made sure the files for Tonex in the documents folder were deleted. Reinstalled Tonex 1.x, restored purchases and refreshed the library. I backed up the library that was created from Tonex 1.X as in the instructions and made a copy of the Tonex folder in the documents folder and moved to the desktop. I updated to version 2. on start the software didn’t automatically scan to refresh the library. the software wouldn’t let me manually refresh the library until I restored purchases. I then refreshed the library, and I had the same result. Only the signature collections would populate in the amp browser. Closed the software and checked the documents, IK Multimedia, Tonex, Backup, ToneModels contents to the library compared to the documents, IK Multimedia, Tonex, Library, ToneModels contents. The first contained many more tone files. Seems the scan to refresh the library wasn’t working in the software. I copied the tone files from the first path above to the Library ToneModels. Started the software and refreshed the library and the tones were discovered and a new library.db file was created. I’m really new to Tonex and have only been using it for a week so unsure if I’m missing any tones that were included in the update. Is there a folder they’d show up in or just mix into the local library of the browser? Anyway, thought you might want to know what I had to do to get this to work. Running windows 10 on Lenovo Legion. Thank you for your time.

Do you have OneDrive enabled for folders like Documents, Downloads and similar?
no pop up , not even an X to click and try to close ? nothing so still having to use task manger to close

It would be ideal if we could flip between the Amp and Stomp Browsers in the same window. It feels excessive to have two separate windows for these. A single browser with an obvious toggle/button to switch views would keep things simple without adding clutter.
Also, there’s no icon on the bottom right corner showing that the browser window is resizable. The main window has one (only in Logic), and this visual affordance is super helpful for letting users know they can resize the window.
Finally, I recommend bringing back the click-to-sort functionality in the table headers. It’s useful to be able to sort on the fly with different columns. I was hoping you would include the ability to sort Favorites at the top as well. Consider adding a “Favorites” sorting option to the column headres and filter menu.

Installed ToneX 2 Beta 2.01, and it seems that it doesn’t recognize input through my PreSonus Studio 26c interface. Both the ToneX and Studio 26c ASIO drivers are current, and there has been no problem with the 1.xxx versions of ToneX Max, Amplitube Max or any other program that I have been using up to this point.
How do I import models (my own and third-party)? Drag and drop is not working as it did in v1. Is there a button somewhere?
I have the SE version but I don’t have access to the tone models listed as SE under the new 2.0 list (such as Blacksmith’s Pride V2) I tried restoring purchases and refreshing the library but neither worked. I am on the 2.0.1 version. Moving on to my wishlist, I would like a date added column in the browsers and the gain reduction meter back in the compressor.
Right! Just include an “Import” button and handle the file management behind the scenes. This is a major flow killer, and the first thing I’d fix. Users don’t want to be digging around in file folders doing copy/paste between folders. #1 rule: keep users in the flow. Also, there’s no feedback in the GUI that it worked so you have to reorder the list only to realize that a full database refresh is needed, which takes a few minutes. Please bump this one to the top of the priority list.
One thing I have figured out is that if you want to import your existing TONEX library to the New 2.0 version is you MUST do a library backup from within the TONEX settings Before Updating/Upgrading, as it seams this was the only way I was able to get my existing Presets and TONEX models to transition and all be organized in there existing folders. However, after upgrading, any new importing of existing .txp files from third parties vendors by dragging and dropping them into a specific folder i don’t believe is possible yet.
Removing the gain meter was a bizarre choice. It was was quite helpful. I hope it returns soon.
Please reintroduce drag and drop for adding presets and the riff audio samples to audition rigs.
Quality of life improvements that would be great to see:
- Add a way to have custom folders for IR’s. I’ve got a few York and Ownhammer packs, and the amount of files gets unruly with no folder structure.
- How do you download from tonenet now?
- Lock the docked window, have buttons for tone model, preset, IR/cab section. If i click on a stomp in the UI it closes the preset/tone model manager.
- On tonenet in the external window, if i click on a stomp, the tonenet window closes. Opening it again takes you back to the start of the listings, meaning you have to scroll back to your place.
- In tone model browser show clean/drive/hi gain etc
- Tone model browser, sort A-Z doesn’t work in the icon view mode, but does in list mode.
New GUI is amazing, well done. If there is one thing I’d immediately introduce, drag and drop presets. No idea how to tell what is a preset or tone model when I download a pack from a vendor, so manually loading them into folders, refreshing the library (takes ages) just seems a bit fiddly, slow and not user friendly.
The interface looks better and runs more smoothly, but…
- Some features from the original version have been removed, such as the level meter and the sample player
- The existing features are essentially the same as in the previous version (the main changes are graphical and relate to window layout)
- I didn’t like that the windows open separately; it requires too much clicking (which is even worse if you’re holding a guitar). I prefer having everything on a single screen (browser, collections, amp, controls)
- The collections browser now looks more like the online store, which means it can be used to push products (I don’t like having “buy” buttons right in the middle of my content library within the software itself)
In short: It’s nice and cool, but personally, I wouldn’t move on from version 1—especially considering the cost
