Official TONEX 2.0 Player Public Beta Discussion

I’ll report the problem to Support.

Another issue: When you open the browser windows to look for captures, those windows remain on top and will not let other windows open on top of them. Not good. They should behave like normal windows.

Hi! i’m trying the new beta version now and it crashed twice in like 10 minutes. The first crash happened when i was using the preset search bar, the second one while i was browsing the preferences menu. I’m using Windows 10, VST3 on Reaper last version.

Edit: It crashes everytime i click on “OPEN PRESET BROWSER” in the drop menu.

I’m having this bug on the tone model knobs getting all buggy and blurry too

The v2 Tone Models are accessible in ToneX, but don’t appear in Amplitube.

Is it correct that Tonex 2.0 can only started on 1 PC? On my second PC it says too much Legitimation.

I like the cleanliness of the new update, but please reconsider the presets menu. Just like with T-Racks, another window on top is just not the way to go. Maybe just a slide out menu on the left?

Think about when you’re cooking and you need to grab a fork. You simply open the drawer, grab it and close. You don’t pull out the entire tray of forks, spoons and knives and put it on the counter, get what you need, and then put the whole thing back. That’s exactly how this feels.

My only comment is to maybe consider swapping the positions of the Tone Model and the Preset dropdowns - to me, it makes more sense to have the Tone Model drop over the amp and the Preset over the signal chain.

I’m really digging the new player. I like the cleaner interface a lot. Buuut. Just needs that overdrive block. Seems some on the IK Multimedia YouTube video for the new player.

i harp on it, and wont again, because I know IK can do it. The company that made T Racks and Amplitube a thing can pull this off.

i luckily haven’t had any bugs yet. I’ll keep jamming it over the weekend and see.

The search function under presets and tone model is lightning fast and very usable. It searches metadata too so if I want to bring up Amalgam or Sadites stuff quickly it works great. A very helpful addition that makes the preset and tone model extra browser window mostly unnecessary.

Small issues:

  • It is still absurd that I cannot delete any Amp Model I want. Plenty of Tonex 1.0 stuff just wastes screen space for me and I do not want it in my searches.
  • Black Angus is back with a vengeance. I used to be able to save My Preset to my standard clean tone that I start with. Now it is Black Angus again everytime and I have to switch every startup.
  • Is there really no way to have the same filters that are in Tone Model Browser in the Preset Browser? I want to be able to select only presets I own, or select only V2 but what is still not possible. I understand that might be an underlying code issue that might be impossible to change at this point.

My understanding was that there’s no drive block because of the dsp limit on the pedal. Maybe it could be done or maybe requires new hardware (Tonex floor? I speculate on a new Tonex hardware pedal). Some use the compressor as a clean boost before the amp.

@Peter-IK Peter, we need NAM A2full support, please. I know the Tonex Hardware can handle it natively.

We will have Tonex profiles, Collections, ToneNet, and NAM A2full; it will be a killer.

I tried some NAM to Tonex profiles, and they are awesome. !!!

I also tried NAM on PC ( like Tonex Max), and it is Awesome.

It’s open source; it’s free.

I have the Tonex pedal from 2023; I also got the later Tonex one. I want to keep being part of the Tonex family.

Thanks

HI , i installed TONEX 2.0 Player Public Beta and in stand alone mode , on windows 11 ,there is no way to close the program .i have had to use task manager each time i have tried it .

also i re installed the old version and noticed all the 2.0 amps etc were missing ?

Hi.. Nice to see my favourite guitar amp sim being further developed.

here are the things I am missing and wanting though.

  1. I always wanted the ability to either show Favourites at the top (that is sort by favourites) or even better yet the option to just show favourites… have wanted this for awhile now.
  2. specific to version 2… I miss the ability to click on the header to sort by name or amp name etc…
  3. I miss the Riff Auditions…
  4. Definitely the ability to only show Collections that I own.. or rather to hide the ones I don’t own… Version 1 did that, version 2 is like amplitube of old where it shows every pack, whether you own it or not. I want to permanently hide the ones that I don’t own, not to have to filter them out everytime.

I think that is it for now.

It is very disappointing, lots of clicks to get to what was a very simple drag & drop procedure. Thanks for including us in this beta test IK it might save a few headaches down the road.

Peter…Is it too early in the development cycle to mention issues with specific DAWs(in my case Studio One v7.3.2 in Windows 10 hangs with the Beta version)? I also have substantial graphics problems with pixelation/blurring of the standalone and VST,which strangely also starts to affect my other IK applications in the same way,and then disappears once I roll back to v1.12.Are there any specific graphics requirements in either Win10 or nVidia that explicitly need to be set or not set to stop this…seems like there may be others users affected in a similar fashion?

TONEX 2.0.1 (BETA) is now available in the User Area

You can use TONEX software on up to three computers. The license states that they are not to be used simultaneously (like three computers all fired up with different people running different projects for example… no sharing licenses basically) but that isn’t blocked by the technology - mainly the licensing.

You should see this popup, make sure you click on it that you’re sure you want to close:

If you roll back to 1.x your library must also be reverted to where it was (see the backup/restore instructions) so you would no longer have those new Tone Models.

This is the perfect time and place!
