After many years of using AT5, I just noticed today that there is a little delay knob buried in the DI channel mixer settings. Does anyone know what that is used for?
it helps with bass phasing.
thanks. so you basically move it left or right until things sound better if using DI? is there a science or recommended way to use it?
basically, you’ll know when its right, because all of a sudden the bass will just bump. its also useful when trying to “double” your single guitar track. some people swear by 10-15 ms, others think its better to just record two tracks.
its even cooler when you put that step slicer and a delay on that di’d with 30 ms or so…its fun to hear it all around. then throw a shimmer on the stereo output and use some leslie cabs and baby you got yourself a stew.
i say, whatever sounds good, is good.
