In reaper add resing (ARA)as a media item FX
After a few seconds, reaper closes.
It works ok if I add resing as a track FX.
Reaper 7.78 windows 11.
Anyone else had this? Have sent an message to support but I’ve not heard anything back…

Can’t help much as I dont use Reaper. But did you try VST3 version to see if its more stable?
Thanks. Yep it’s definitely the ARA version that’s the problem - but only on media item FX. Track FX is no problem. As a media item FX, the gui doesn’t even appear. Reaper just closes. Other ARA plugins are ok working this way…
Bumpity bumpity bump
Has anyone had good experiences with ARA in any DAW? I’ve had mixed results, and it doesn’t work in Logic at all.
Generally it’s pretty good in reaper. They’ve been working on it recently as well. I use melodyne and spectralayers with ARA. I mean it’s not perfect …![]()
Just tried this in reaper 7.79 and the behaviour is the same ![]()
i’ve read through this and it seems reaper and ara have some growing to do what you are experiencing seems to be universal for media item fx:
M1 Mac Studio. Resing is crashing Reaper even when I try to click the little books icon to look at the vocalists screen. If I touch it, instant crash in Reaper. I don’t know if this is a Reaper issue or a Resing issue, but I used to be able to do anything with Resing in Reaper and had no issues. I could even put it on media. But I started getting crashes a few Resing updates ago.
Could you send this to support? I’m corresponding with Jason in support and after having updated to the latest version of resing I’m getting all sorts of crashes in reaper. Also, previews and demos no longer work.
So update: I’ve been talking with support. I’ve uninstalled, wiped all the regedit entries (as detailed by support) reinstalled but unfortunately still the same. I’ll keep everyone updated ![]()
