I’d like to forward an email I sent to support via DM to a leader of this forum, which details the cause of a crash(es) in SampleTank 4 Max V2 and also what rectifies it.
The reason is due to not having a response from Support, and need to know if this has been passed on to the relevant team in order to rectify my problem.
no. my ticket is concerning a different matter. what did you determine is the source of the crashes on your end? i get ST4 crashes and sometimes think is related to using the AU or VST3 version of the plugin depending which instrument I am using. But its hard to know if its ST4 or my DAW.
For me it’s the Effects Rack…if I leave it enabled before loading a large instrument, like the “C7 Grand Binaural - Natural” from the piano section, SampleTank will crash. If I disable the Effects Rack prior to loading a large instrument, as above, SampleTank doesn’t crash.
Strange behaviour, but one for the relevant team @ IK Multimedia to look into.
Thanks. This is really interesting. I never checked the status of the effects rack settings when ST 4.x crashes on my system. I will need to check and keep notes.
Load “C7 Grand Binaural - Natural” piano from the piano section.
Load “C7 Grand Binaural - Natural SE” from the piano section.
Flick between the two, loading each one, one after the other.
…CRASH!!!
Actions - Rectify of Crash(es)
Load SampleTank 4 (Standalone).
Load “C7 Grand Binaural - Natural” piano from the piano section.
Disable the Effects Rack.
Again load “C7 Grand Binaural - Natural” piano from the piano section.*
Load “C7 Grand Binaural - Natural SE” from the piano section.
Flick between the two, loading each one, one after the other.
…NO CRASH!!!
*Please note, after loading this instrument again the Effects Rack is again active, but something has changed to not cause the crash(es).
Follow the above steps to identify if this also happens on your system, assuming everything is installed correctly and that your folder structure is correct.
