I think this needs to be pinned for SampleTank users here as its a very important doc. It has saved me from issues many times. I have a heavy SampleTank user and I a have found, if you start to deviate and customize too far off from the default, strange things happen to your DAW. Its best to stick to the default paths they recommend. My theory, some of these paths are hard coded in some of the SampleTank instrument config files, and when you start changing stuff, they break or crash.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for sharing. I have the SampleTank 4 MAX and haven’t yet installed the whole library yet as I will install a 2nd hard drive first and just assumed I could move all SampleTank to the 2nd hard drive and set the path in the plugin. Will mental note this and come back when I install.

You can move things and add the path to your SampleTank 4 settings. You can also have multiple paths in the settings which makes things easier if you don’t migrate everything etc.
