TONEX PEDAL BRICKED DURING FIRMWARE UPGRADE

Help - a firmware upgrade was made and when I went to upgrade the unit - the upgrade stopped with an error.

the pedal now lights up - but no screen display and not seen by the computer any longer. It also emits a white noise.

nothing I have done changes this and it is now dead in water.

I put in a ticket - hoping for a quick solution. Anyone else have this experience?

I had the same thing happen (usb cable issue I think) but there was a function to recover the unit, did you see that in the tonex software? Now I don't 100% remember where it was but worked and my issue only lasted 10 minutes.

I went through process with tech support. Could not fix. So they are sending me a new pedal

How did you reach someone to talk to? I called their main number, it it says they are not taking tech support calls or customer service calls.

While waiting for a response from the support team, you can also try a few general troubleshooting steps to see if it helps. First, you can try performing a power cycle by disconnecting the device from the power source, waiting for a few minutes, and then reconnecting it. This can sometimes help reset the device and resolve any temporary issues.

Additionally, you can try connecting the device to a different computer or USB port to see if it gets recognized. Sometimes, issues with connectivity can be resolved by changing the connection.

IK Support is run through a ticketing system. You would need to go to the Support section of our site (or visit http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support ) and then once you search the FAQ as instructed at the top of the page you will see a link/button to open a support ticket if you don't find what you need in the FAQs.

Same thing happened to me...I connected my new Tonex pedal for the first time to my M2 MacBook Air. The Tonex Librarian app told me I needed to update firmware. However the firmware update failed. Now the Tonex unit won't power up and there is no screen display. Only the orange backlight turns on. I tried several times, the Recovery steps by powering up while holding down the footswitch B button for 5 seconds.... This did not work and there is no response on the device. :idea:

I've opened up a hardware support ticket with IK. I hope they can reach out to me promptly to resolve this issue. I was counting on using the Tonex on a gig next weekend. :?

Yes, exactly the same thing happened to me during firmware update as happened to TonesTT. The footswitch B power up option didn't work either. Have sent a reply back to IKMM and hope they will help me resolve this quickly.

I have the same problem. Display is not flashing and also buttons not working.

Here the answer for IK.
When you can, please try Recovery from inside the TONEX software. Below are some steps to get you started.

Turn off your TONEX Pedal, then turn it back on holding the B Pedal during start-up*
Open the latest version of the TONEX software
Enter the Librarian tab
In the upper left-hand corner where you're TONEX pedal is selected, open the drop down
Select Recovery
*This will enter your device's DFU mode, which is required for the procedure. In this mode, the LED display will remain blank.

If the Recovery process has any issue completing, please try another USB port and if possible another USB cable. If your are using a USB HUB, please remove this and connect the TONEX Pedal directly to your Mac/PC.
