Problem / Use Case:
Gain staging in between devices inside the T-Racks suite needs to be controllable.
Signals might be too low or too hot (clipping even) in between devices.
-- improper gain staging negates the use of the mastering console, and brings me back to loading devices in a DAW with gain/utility plugins.
Proposed Solution:
All T-Racks devices should have input and output knobs (except for where redundant).
This way, signals can be controlled (not clip, not be too low) in between devices
EQual lacks main input or output trim/gain. I have at least output gain in all of the other EQ plugins I’ve ever used.
Mic Room has no output knob.
De-Esser lacks input/output control.
The Quad series (Comp, Lim, Image) lacks global input.
Many others lack input, and while I understand their purpose might not call for it, if they are meant to be used in a chain within the TR6 mastering console, there is no control for level where there is no knob for input.
Yes, the plugins are models of older gear with modern changes (sometimes to avoid copyright claims), but why not go further and make the plugins even better?
Right, I understand that de-esser plugins don’t really need input/output gain, but any plugin that’s part of a chain of plugins needs gain staging capability.
