Hi @Peter-IK. Yes I can see that on the other tabs but there is no right click menu on the “Discover” Menus. This includes Tone Model, Stomp Model, and Preset. I’m not having the issue on any other menu within the new browser
ctrl+t and ctrl+p are great additions, but being able to confirm selections, like saving with the enter/return key would be a great addition
Unfortunately you still can’t sort by type. Adding that back would be handy, especially for auditioning a certain piece of gear.
I really don’t get it. How is it possible to release a new version of a software with LESS features than the old version, rather than MORE?
And btw, this right here is the slowest forum experience I ever had.
I haven’t installed 2.x yet (due to the missing file player and some other kinda “horror” stories), so let me ask this: After quite some patch housekeeping (which is why I didn’t want to update to 2.x), I ended up with a LOT of left over presets causing error messages because I’ve deleted their “parent” tone models. It’s so much of them I can’t use any presets at all anymore because 2/3 of them won’t load anyway.
Is there any way to clean presets up (others than deleting all of them) in 2.x?
IMO, there should be a “clean up” mode. The software would then check all presets for whether the required tone models still exist and then ask you whether it’d be fine to delete them.
Additionally/alternatively, when deleting a tone model, you could be offered a prompt such as “used by XYZ presets, delete anyway, yes/no”, but that’d make mass deleting of tone models a PITA, so I’d rather have a housekeeping option.
No matter how you put it, having to deal with gazillions of presets causing error messages just because you had a bit of a “ok, let’s just see what ToneNET has on offer” honeymoon (and I’m sure every Tonex user is guilty for that) is way less than funny. To put it carefully.
I’ve now purchased the Tonex Rig expansion for my Tonex One, since version 2.1 still doesn’t allow you to place an overdrive pedal before the amp.
It’s a mystery to me why this hasn’t been changed yet.
The Tonex One can handle five effects simultaneously.
Isn’t it possible to select an overdrive instead of a compressor?
That kind of option really should have been part of the concept from the start.
I’ve been playing electric guitar for 42 years, and the first effect pedal I ever bought was a Tube Screamer.
If it’s possible—dear IK team—please release an update for all Tonex One and Tonex Pedal users.
It shouldn’t be the case that you have to buy the expensive Tonex board just because you want an overdrive pedal in front of a clean Tonex amp model.
Please consider it!
If I’m understanding you correctly, don’t be so sure, and I plead not guilty sir. Personally I never, and have never done the ToneNet thing as such, (I learnt my lesson early on with (BIAS Amp and BIAS FX) Technically speaking I may have when I purchased a Pack or something, but I just don’t even go there, and certainly never randomly downloaded single captures. When it comes to 3rd party captures I only ever purchase them via Packs and my captrure count is over 15500, well on my way to 16000.
I must be lucky or something because I never experience the issues I read about, I just don’t, my journey is, and has been trouble free. (Touch Wood)
I actually sometimes like doing so (even if it’s not completely random), so I can see what other people think about how things should sound. Sometimes it’s quite inspiring.
Fwiw, my “go to” sounds are sorted since a long time already (those I’m mainly using on my Tonex centered live rigs). But I just like lurking at random captures every now and then - and it adds to the mess. For which, regardless of the user behaviour, IK should offer a decent solution.
I would actually love to have free block type choice for any other blocks but amp and cab.
I never need any of the FX (they’re either coming from my DAW or from the rest of the things on my boards) but would, for instance, love being able to use two full parametric EQs providing more extreme settings as well. And I wouldn’t mind a dirt box, either.
@Peter-IK This new version isn’t working well for me. I can’t use any new models in Amplitube, the Amp Browser still dominates all windows making work flow very clunky.
I didn’t back up anything before updating to this new model. If I revert back to the previous version will everything still work the same as before?
If you didn’t back up I’m not sure and honestly I’d check with support before making any more changes. I posted a link in the other thread (I moved your support/Pianoverse question to its own topic).
Thanks Peter.
I just opened a support ticket for the Pianoverse issue and one for the Tonex issues.
Thanks for the free update.
The previous version of ToneX allowed the mapping of amp controls to CC Midi.
Are there plans to bring this feature back as it will allow 3rd party controllers to change amp settings without having to resort to a mouse or touchpad.
I’d like to see more sorting options added to the browser (amp models, cabinets).
Automation in Cubase
right klick on knob, let’s say chorus/level > assign to knob 1. > Works.
Save > don’t work.
Automation works only as long as gui of plugin is open.
After restart Project in Cubae Knob1 assignment is gone.
Cheers, Lars
