I put a new song in my music website called “Almost Somewhat Blonde”; it’s the song on top. I used Brown Sound and Alex Lifeson Signature Tonex for the double tracked rhythm guitars. I also have some IK Multimedia Hammond B-3X organ in the song. Please tell me how you like the song, and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor (leave me a link if you don’t have a recent thread). Is it just me, or does Felicia sound like a well known “Blonde” singer from the 80’s; especially during the verse? Here is my link:
Hi aaronaardvark,
Yes Felicia sounds like a singer that was in a 70’s/ 80’s new wave band out of New York that played at CBGBs the same time as the Ramones and the Talking Heads.
On to the song…first everything is very clear and distinguishable. If I may, I would suggest the following
- bring the rhythm guitars that are playing on 2 and 4 up in the mix by either a volume boost or eq boost in the high end. If you are having problems with the guitar competing with the snare a very slight delay on the guitars (1-5 sec) should help.
- bring the last keyboard solo up with either a volume boost or a eq boost in the high end. It seemed too low.
- the snare on the fade, I think bring it down a little faster on the fade than the music. The snare seems to be too loud compared to the music during the fade.
Please remember these are just the opinions and don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. ![]()
