My Amplitube Wishlist

First off, let me say that Amplitube is a FANTASTIC plugin. Once I bought it along with Total Studio 5 MAX, I’m never going back. However, it does leave some to be desired such as gear options, features etc

so here’s my Amplitube wishlist:

Gear

  • Fender
    • Hot Rod Deluxe/DeVille (especially feels like a glaring omission given how ubiquitous those amps are)
    • Rumble heads/cabs (would give AmpliTube a much stronger modern bass selection)
  • Schecter Hellwin head/cabs (since I’m a huge fan of Synyster Gates/A7X)
  • CAE 3+ SE
  • Mesa
    • half-back guitar cabs (the ones with the metal grill - Those aren’t interchangeable with a generic Mesa 4×12 - the open/closed-back configuration is a huge part of their character.)
    • Subway bass heads and powerhouse bass cabs
  • Gallien-Krueger heads and bigger cabinets - Having basically just the MB 150 S combo is… kinda hilarious when you think about how important GK has been to bass
  • Dumble stuff
  • straight versions of all the cabs you’ve previously sampled
  • Klon
  • King of Tone
  • Blues Driver

Features

  • Tilt knob on the British Lead S100 to blend the amp’s two channels (kind of like on the current Marshall Origin amps) - The ability to blend the two channels instead of treating the amp as essentially one fixed channel would make the model substantially more flexible and realistic
  • drop-down menu to add mods on the Marshall models (Jose, Superkill, Dookie, SE Lead etc) - would be way cleaner than having the browser filled with what are essentially variations of the same underlying amplifier
  • an “Amplitube Maker” feature where a user could build and customize their own gear by choosing the preamp, tubes, tone stack, bias etc (I switched from the PositiveGrid Bias series and kind of miss that feature)
  • fully modular signal-flow system rather than a collection of predetermined amp/cab combinations; routing multiple amps to the same cab(s), switch between amount of close mics on a cab; the room mics are always active no matter how many close mics there are, put multiple mics on the same speaker…
