Amplitube 6 soon?

Let’s get the Amplitube 6 hype/rumours going. It’s been over 5 years since Amplitube 5!

I’m curious to see if this will ever happen, given I haven’t seen many meaningful, non-ToneX-related updates in recent years (my bad if there were some I missed); ToneX seems to be their big focus. I’ve reported bugs in A5, but all support really has to offer me is “do a clean installation.” I 've reproduced the same issues on both a 2019 Intel i5 MacBook Pro A5 and a brand new M5 MacBook Air; it crashes so often for me that I tend to reach for other plugins. I really like ToneX, but I prefer fully modeled amps/pedals.

If they do an Amplitube 6, I would love to see a ground-up rebuild:

  1. Somehow incorporating ToneX into the modeling process.

  2. More curated component selection: IMO, A5 has some great models, but quality varies greatly. Strip things back to the best of the best.

  3. Input gain calibration: This is a big one. Obviously, we should be able to adjust input gain to taste, but a standard should be established. Currently, many models need substantial clean boosts to sound correct.

  4. Output limiter would be nice to have.

  5. Harmonic tremolo: I just love this effect and don’t have one

  6. Longer IR support: I have cab-with-room IRs upwards of 1000ms.

Strengths in the current version:

  1. Routing: I’ve never seen any guitar rig software with the routing flexibility A5 has.

  2. Cab section: Similar to above, I really like the cab section flexibility. Maybe some curated presets for sweet spots / mic combinations would be a nice-to-have.

They seem to have abandoned the Amplitube model. It’s too bad. So many other companies are improving their amp models that I think IK just gave up.

no one knows this for sure.

I think that too. I wish they’d just make an updated plugin that utilized the times equivalents. But kept them natively. It’s a bit buggy in Amplitube.
