Turn Amplitube into a floor processing unit like a Helix or Quad Cortex
Problem / Use Case:
Amplitube is such a good program. Has everything I need. As folks are aware, you can pull in Tonex products into it if you want something different than what it already has. Has excellent effects you can add pre and post. The problem is it is cumbersome to use in a live situation. I have a pedalboard with a Mac Mini underneath which has a iRig Stomp I/O on top of that. Run a iPad as a display for the computer. Has a lot of things that can go wrong.
Proposed Solution:
Build Amplitube into a pedal system. Include a high quality audio interface, an expression pedal, and 6-8 switches. Touch screen if you want to compete with the QC.
Priority / Impact:
I would love it if this was a high priority for IK Multimedia. I will be on the list to get one if they do.
I think I am looking for basically the same thing. I would like a “Tonex Stage”, basically similar functionality as a Kemper Stage unit.
Right now, to get the desired effects, it takes a Tonex Pedal and external effects. I am not a fan of this as it requires several components and they do not automatically switch together. I would like a single box solution.
Basically take the Tonex pedal, add more effects (Amplitube), more foot switches (preferably with scribble strips), and allow adjustments to be made from IOS and Android (including tablets). I don’t need or want to pay alot for a big touchscreen display. Something similar to the Tonex Pedal display would be find for me, if it can be easily monitored and controlled by mobile. I would rather have a unit that costs less that a QC or Helix Stadium Floor with the sound quality of Tonex. If Amplitube Amplifier modeling was included, great, though that would just be icing on the cake for me.
