VSX Headphones

Hi,
Is the headphone output of the Axe I/O accurate enough to be used monitoring
with VSX Headphones ?

As long as the headphones are completely flat and for me open backs (closed colours the sound I find) then they should work fine. I have a pair of AKG K702s and they work great with the AXE I/O.

VSX headphones are different to normal headphones

Then you will need a headphone amp for them. If they are really high impedance and high wattage then you will need to put the amp in front of the AXE I/O input. The AXE I/O solo is USB 3.0 powered , The AXE I/O is externally powered but the headphone output is still USB powered. If they are 100 watt headphones then of course you will need an amp. Your question makes no sense as you seem to already be very aware of the answer @OP.

It's more to do with having a flat response.
They work fine from the headphone output but, am i getting a true representation of what the DAW will render to file on mixdown ?

VSX headphones work perfectly with AXE I/O here. If you have any doubts, check your reference mixes by running them through your AXE I/O and your VSX cans.

I tried straight from the headphone jack and then using a headphone amplifier from the output and they are both the same.
