I’ve been trying to use ReSing for instruments (trumpet) instead of voice. Initially it looked like a cool way to generate trumpet parts with a different tone than the MIDI trumpet virtual instruments I use. But the trumpet voice in ReSing has problems that make it unusable, unfortunately. I’ve generated a few tickets since the first release, but it still doesn’t work right, which makes me sad. I recently made a custom voice using trumpet wav files, and extended the range. But the artifacts are the same, so the problem is in the algorithm as opposed to the models. I’m hoping this will be fixed in a future release. When it does work, the results are very promising, that’s why I remain hopeful!
What are you using to generate the trumpet voice? In my experience, the voice-to-instrument translation in ReSing has not generated useful results. However, using my guitar or another MIDI instrument that’s closer in timbre to the modeled instrument seems to work much better. Have you tried that?
Yes the source I’m using is actually a trumpet .wav file. So it’s trumpet in → ReSing trumpet out.
