I Still Cry For You

Hi All,

Here is the latest song Kelly and I finished.

It was inspired by the passing of my grandparents when I was about 10 years old and an image from an old black and white film that I can not remember the name of. My Granny passed first and then about 6 months later my Papa John (there is a story about how he got his name). I wrote it from Papa John’s perspective and what I imaged what he felt like.

Any constructive criticism would most appreciated, I struggled to get the bass to sit right.

Dan

Hey Dan,

Another great track from you two. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I really feel this song brother, a love that never tires regardless of how many years have been shared together, beautiful.

This kind of reminds me of my Mum and Dad, Dad is now 88 and Mum is 86, Dad still lives independently in their home but Mum is now in care with dementia. It’s hard to get him off the subject of how much he loves her and she is the most important reason for his living, it’s really quite sweet actually (if not a little tiring  ) .

Back to the track, great melody and production, I hope you don’t mind me saying that this feels like a classic rock 80’s style of production back when the power ballad was in vogue. You guys definitely have your formula worked out now, it’s always a pleasure to listen to any new track from you both.

One final thing, is that you Dan on lead vocal? sounds like it, you have an organic vibe.

Cheers, CS.

Hey CS,

Hey Bro, thanks for sharing about your parents. It is exactly what I was trying to say from the perspective of the one who lost their partner and the pain they are feeling.

80’s power ballad, I’ll take that. I am sure that the gated reverb on the snare didn’t hurt either.

Yeah, that me on lead vocals now back to where I belong - background vocals. :call_me_hand:

Cheers,

Dan

You should do more lead vocals dude!!
