Sample Tank 4 Max on MAC, Billy Cobham .dmg problem

I just bought Sample Tank 4 MAX.

I installed it on a MAC. All the .dmg files worked, except the Billy Cobham dmg file.

While installing, i get the message:
"Installation aborted. Cannot find any Sound Content to copy."

I several times downloaded the file again, but the unpacking of the .dmg file gives always the same error.

So also Sample Tank 4 gives the notion that I should install that. Can someone check if maybe the file on the server is corrupt?

As this is primarily a user to user forum, someone-else may chime in. Meanwhile, the best thing to do is raise a Support Ticket, here for some one to one help (US (East Coast) Business hours, generally). Response time is usually within 2 working days.

Can you also let us know what is the file size of the downloaded file?

The file size is: 1.092.099.824 bytes

I've installed this file a couple of times without any issues. Usually when we see that error on a Mac, there's some kind of permissions issue and if you go into the package file and manually execute the installer it usually works.

There used to be a video showing the steps, but I can't find that now... Here is from an old post describing how to do it.

MacOS: Right click on the installer, Show package contents, Click Contents, MacOS, Then click the sample tank installer. Terminal will open, then you should be able to use the installer. Sampletank will rebuild your database, and I think all should be okay after that.

I also tried this. In principal i think it could have worked, but there was an error message that i think told me that the file does not contain the data it was looking for. But I already contacted support, and i wait for their answer.

That is not normal. Please post your ticket number so we can see what happened. In most of these cases replies from support are in spam/junk folders.

Just had to do this with Billy Cobham after purchasing TS2 Max in their big Spectacular. This worked for me.

Hello All,

I’m sorry... I tried following the directions in djike’s post but I must be misunderstanding because I can’t seem to get the Billy Cobham sounds installed.

Would anybody mind breaking it down in a little more detail? The Billy Cobham installer itself ends up with the error that says there’s no sound set to install.

All set... I reached out to support, who responded back fairly quickly. It was basically the instructions provided by djike but worded a little differently.
