Sounds barely audible in Logic Pro X after reloading

When I open a file in Logic Pro X 10.4.4 that I have worked on before, the ST4MAX sounds that I loaded are barely audible. If I reload the sound, they are at the proper volume, but I have lost all the EQ and effects that I added to the sound and I have to add them all over again. What am I missing? Is anyone else having this issue? Every other sample library is loading and sounds great - LASS Strings, EAST/West, Garritan Personal Orch, Drums on Demand, and of course, all the Apple samples. Help is appreciated.

This is definitely not expected behaviour and I have not experienced it on my LPX set up.

I contacted support and apart from them wanting me to describe the issue which I did, not much help.
