Sample Tank 4.0.4 Installation.. too slow

Dear All,

I purchased the Sample Tank max version and downloaded all the installers from the IK user area. I extracted the individual compressed zip files downloaded into respective folders.
I am trying to run each of the installers. It`s taking more than 45 mins for each ST4 installer !!
Surprisingly ST3 content gets installed fast enough (< 10 mins on average per installer)

My PC specifications are as follows:

Processor: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor 3.5 Ghz
Installed RAM: 8.00 GB
OS: Windows 10

Am installing it on to a Seagate Backup Plus Hub External drive(5400 rpm)

Although installation can be restricted depending on a user's hardware, such as your 5400 rpm HD, 45 minutes does sound a little excessive and I can't remember mine taking more than maybe 10 mins per installer.

You could open a ticket with official support here https://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/mi/ and ask them the question. Perhaps they have some benchmark speeds.

Also, maybe your AntiVirus is carrying out real-time checks on the files as they are installed onto the Seagate?

Thank you for the replies !! The antivirus has been disabled. It`s several hours for some of the ST4 installers now. St3 still continues to get installed in under 10 mins. on average.
Have raised the support ticket as well. Hope for a response.

That's a lot of data to be moving on a 5400 rpm USB drive over a hub, even if it's USB 3.0. I have a quad core 2.88GHZ iMac with a Serial ATA 7200 rpm drive and the ST4 MAX installs were taking at least 10 minutes each.

If possible, try installing one of the the larger install files on your internal hard drive and see how long that takes, if you have enough space for one of them.

Thanks Dave. It`s a good suggestion. For the comparison sake, I`ll try doing it for one of the installers.
