Repeat alerts on messages/iMessages

I don't exactly know in which iOS version this feature was introduced, basically when a new text message (mostly DMs) is received, the text alert rings twice(once when the message is actually received and again after few seconds).

I liked the feature initially but not so much anymore. Is there any way to change that so there is no repeat on text alerts?
