ST4 4.0.2 Unusable in Ableton Live Suite 8.4.2 Mac

Ableton Live suite 8.4.2 host becomes unusable when hosting ST4 4.0.2 - the UI becoming completely or mostly blank white window, and does not recover with time. Mac 10.14.3. Ableton menu still works, but the project is not visible and not usable. Same issue hosting either AU or Vst version of ST4.

Hoping for a fix as this is the main reason I bought ST4, for live use with Ableton. Suggestions?

While it is very disappointing that ST4 cannot be hosted in Ableton (at least, not on Mac Mohave with Ableton Live Suite 8.4.2) I did discover somewhat of a workaround that really surprised me: the Standalone ST4 seems work fine along with Ableton at the same time, with midi keys going to both Ableton and ST4, and both playing audio apparently sharing the Mac audio drivers just fine. You just don't get to do that on Windows (share ASIO) but my preliminary testing on the Mac seems to indicate this is doable. This is actually not a bad workaround, as - if it doesn't surprise me later - I can use both simultaneously: Ableton for loops and other sounds, and ST4 for its sounds.

That doesn't mean I'm not interested in having ST4 as a plug-in work with Ableton.

I think it may be worth putting in a ticket to IK Official Support for this to get a definitive answer. However, I wonder whether a ticket into Ableton would be worthwhile as well. There is a distinct possibility that it could be a compatibility issue with Live 8 and Mojave that may be causing the problems in a roundabout kind of way.

Live 9 is not officially supported on Mojave, which suggests that Live 8 definitely isn't either. Now, as usual, Live 8 may run on the OS but functionality (and therefore compatibility) may not be 100%.

As for the workaround - if you can make it work, then all may not be lost.

Kudos to IK Media Support - updated ST4 4.0.3 (along with Sound Library Updater 1.3) resolved the problem! Now ST4 is hosted in Ableton Live (8.4.2, yep, not the most recent version of that) just fine on my Macbook. Talk about a quick resolution - I'm thrilled and delighted.

Way to go IK Multimedia - fantastic job on this! Somebody get these guys a latte.

Support ticket raised - FYI to forum. Need to flip this back to unresolved for different issue but same result.

I have paraphrased the issues in case another user chime in with any ideas, but please continue to work with support until you have a resolution.
