Waves inside project are missing

hi all.... this is the second time... ive recorded a project after many weeks of work.. when i attempted to export the project to my desktop an error occured and now the 'wave(s)' in my project are lost... when i open the project the tracks are still there...same color and length but the 'wave' is lost... and there is no longer a sound!.... please help me.. what/where are the waves? thanks in advance
