Using Multi Outputs

Postby gplea » Thu Oct 25, 2018 5:21 am

I have a vague memory of someone of some kind of authority saying that the Multi Outputs on the Mixer page don't work, but I can't remember why. I tried it and in fact, they don't work except on 1&2. So, what's the deal with that?

It all works OK here:

Can you describe, step by step, how to recreate the problem?

Thanks Darkstar. Actually, all I did was assign those ST3 8 outputs to 16 stereo subsequent ch on the MIX screen, then I assigned instruments to 8 ch. in the PLAY screen. When I tried to play ANY of the tracks on the PLAY that were NOT assigned to 1&2 none of them would play.
Thanks again,

The Channels on the Play screen are the MIDI INPUT channels, that is the MIDI channel used for notes to trigger the instrument loaded in that slot. Nothing to do with audio output channel - they can only be set on the Mixer page (in ST2.5 you could do both on the same window).

To trigger those other loaded instruments you will need to send MIDI on different channels from your host or keyboard.

Thanks. Regardless, any MIX ch. that is NOT set on 1&2 do not play.

OK, for the instrument slots routed to those (non 1+2) outputs, do you see the sound levels in the Mixer and on the Play window?

What DAW are you using? How have you routed / connected those plug-in outputs in the DAW?

Some screenshots would help too. https://cgi.ikmultimedia.com/ikforum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=432
