Difference between Brit V1 & Brit V2

Postby mpeiron » Sat Sep 29, 2018 4:55 pm

HI,

I have a question about Vintage 30 simulations in Amplitube 4, as I see there are many options. As far as I have investigated, both Brit V1, V2 and V3 are Vintage 30, as well as Brit Vintage 8 and 16.

What's the difference between all of them? Is it about impedance? Could it be that Brit V2 is the V30 made in England (for Mesa) and the others are the ones made in China?

Thanks.

This is a question that has come up before; see, for example, the following threads:

Basically, as far as I can tell, the general answer seems to be that different physical amp manufacturers use perhaps slightly different "Vintage 30" branded for their own cabs. So, like, there are the Vintage 30s that Mesa uses, the Vintage 30s that Marshall uses, the Vintage 30s that Orange uses. I think if you check Amplitube's models for the right cabs from (or based on) those manufacturers, you'll see different Brit Vn speaker models in them. (Are they in other cab models, too, like Dr. Z? I can't remember.)
