As this does sound unusual. I would suggest first contacting tech support at the link below. They will be able to help get you working and if they do find any troubles with your unit, they will be more than happy to help with anything warranty related.

In the meantime, check to make sure to turn OFF the 'Mono Audio' option in your iOS Settings -> General -> Accessibility. Check also to ensure you have Microphone permissions enabled for AmpliTube in the iOS Settings -> Privacy section.
Note - Make sure you have headphones connected and not a headset as these types of connection can cause unusual behavior. If you do have a headset it is suggested to connect this prior to connecting your iRig to the iOS device being used.
