iRig HD2 not working with 2017 MacBook Air and GarageBand

Hi there, I have been having this issue for a while now and would like to vent my frustration now. I bought a brand new IRig HD2 a few months ago and ever since it has never worked. Whenever I plug it into Garageband, the led glows bright blue however it doesnt detect any audio being input. I have tailored all of Garageband's input and output settings to fit the IRig device, and intalled all of the firmware updates, however the product still refuses to work.

In dire need of help!

I've got the same problem with my MBP 2012 and GarageBand.

It would be great if IK Multimedia could post the solution(s) for this problem on their website.

Maybe there is not a general solution to this problem.

Please contact support as Peter suggested for some one to one help. And, to help others who run into a similar problem, let us know how it gets resolved.

I did contact the support after I wrote my first comment. Hopefully, I'll get a solution that I can leave a comment about here any time soon.

Did this get resolved? I'm having a similar problem with my 2015 MacBook Pro, GarageBand and the iRig HD2.

Basically the Mac / GB can't see the iRig - it doesn't work as advertised.

Let me know what you discovered.

Hi Russ,

It works, but I do not recall the fix for the issue and I do not use Garageband often enough to remember what I did to make it work.

If I connect the iRig through the USB port to my MBP 2012, I can see that the iRig is connected to the MBP in the GB Preferences - Sound/MIDI. I can also hear any sound I create with help of my Electric Bass within the GB, through my earphones/headphones.

The iRig is also visible in the Sound Preferences on the macOS Preferences.

Does it work with AmpliTube 4 or 5?
