using wah in stompbox [Resolved]

Postby KlausWalker77 » Sat Dec 30, 2017 1:54 pm

I want to use the wah pedal fx in amplitube 4 stompbox section. The problem is that I recorded the media file earlier and want to add the fx now as it plays along in my daw( i.e. with moving my mouse). Because I don’t have a controller. Is there a way to do this ?

I don’t use Reaper I’m afraid, but I’m sure there will be a way to do this using automation. Hopefully a Reaper user will be along to help out soon.

I watched a tutorial abaut automation in reaper, quite got it. Can automate a vst fx in reaper much less now but when I tried automating Amplitube it shows lots of parameters in the envelope of Amplitube.(abaut 12 I think) How am I supposed to tell which parameter is the wah pedal in amplitube so I can edit it ?
I'm not much into these features so forgive my ignorance if I used wrong expressions or names.

Aren't the AT4 parameter names self-explanatory?

Anyway,as is common in Reaper there are several ways to achieve the same result. Try this:
(a) load AT4 and an FX and load the desired gear (Wah pedal etc)
(b) in AT4, assign the desired control to one of the 16 plug-in parameters
(c) In the FX header, click {Param]; then "FX parameter list" then click "Show Track Envelope" to create an Automation lane, just
(d) (optionally) to map that envelope Lane to a MIDI controller knob/ slider, click the MIDI Learn button in that lane, twiddle your hardware control, set the check-boxes as needed.

You can also omit (c) and (d) and do the "MIDI Learn" directly from the [Param] drop-down menu.

Details of these functions are in the Reaper User Guide.

Thanks but it didn't work. I used the wah in "envelope write mode" and clicked "show last touched fx param. only" but it displays no amplitube parameter then. None of the amplitube param. is shown at all. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong, I think I'm close to figuring this

I am not sure what you have done.

What does the [Param] drop-down show after you have clicked/adjusted the Wah control?

What do you see when you open the Automation Envelopes window for that Reaper track (it's the angled line button). go to AmpliTube and type "Wah" in the filter?

none of the amplitube parameters is shown. Or any other parameter (cause I didn't use other fx)
Only the default track envelopes are shown. Maybe I'm making a mistake abaut the "arm" or "modulation" selections of the parameters

OK< please post a screenshot of the unfiltered list of parameters for AmpliTube

http://cgi.ikmultimedia.com/ikforum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=432

Also, could you try the steps I listed for any parameter in another FX (e.g. ReaEQ or ReaComp)?

Also I tried moving the faders of those parameters but no change in sound occured. Only the bypass fader removed the amplitube preset sound

I did what you said with ReaEq and it works in that way. Shows the last parameter tweaked.

Eventually figured it out...Right click on wah pedal in stompbox section of Amplitube then assign automation > wah > parameter 1, parameter 2, 3,.....also works with volume pedal in stompbox section.
