Amplitube crash since 5.8.1 version on Mac Sonoma & Sequoia

Postby Gaetan DUBOIS » Sat Nov 09, 2024 6:55 am

Hello friends.

I'm using a Macbook Pro M2 with sequoia 15.1 and I can't use Amplitube 5 since the 5.8.1 version. It crashes every time I try to open it. Same with the plugin in Logic Pro X.
To use it, I have to reinstall the 5.7.5 version which is the last stable version for me...

When I tried to update to the 5.8.1 version, I was using sonoma. I did the update to sequoia 15.1 since.

I did open a ticket with IK Multimedia and I'm really happy with them since they try to find the problem and are responding everytime but we can't find the solution...

They made me install the last version (5.10.1) on a new user on my mac and it's working well. But I'm not really interested to use it that way since I have all of my softwares and plugins on my principal user on my mac...

Did anyone had the same problem ?
I have a crash doc I can share if anyone can read it because it's way of my knowledge in the computer science...

Thanks a lot guys, and again, thanks again to IK Multimedia to follow my ticket!

Go back to Support and let them know that, although the suggestion worked, it does not solve your specific problem, as you want to use it on your main user account.

Hi,
I did send them a message about it, thanks for the advice.

But I did found the solution after some hours of research.
I notice that the preset manager thread were quoted a lot on the crash log.

So I took out all of my presets out of the document folder of Amplitube 5 and the new version magically opened!
So I tried to copy them back to the document folder one by one and opened Amplitube 5 after each copy.
So after some time, I finally found some presets that made A5 crash, but just since the 5.8.1 version, not with the previous versions.

I'm now back to work with this last version and I'm really happy about it!
Hope this will help some people having the same issue.

Thanks to IK Multimedia with my ticket.

Muscially yours,

Gaëtan
