Amplitube 5 MAX, Where is my gear? I hate this anoying noise

Postby smokeadvisor@gmail.com » Mon Sep 02, 2024 4:55 pm

Hello everyone,

Last week I took advantage of the Amplitube MAX V5.8.1 offer and purchased the program.
I followed the instructions received for the installation process and, apparently, everything is installed correctly, as you can see here https://app.screencast.com/AyVfWrC9ZqGNE?conversation=t9CU3QxM39gNtkM2xS9EYp .
However, as you can see in the image at the link https://app.screencast.com/HMbRT4UeefZVp?conversation=PxqL6brOJdTgfccdx8Zz9o the equipment library is empty. Coincidentally, the folder C:\Users\PC\Documents\IK Multimedia\AmpliTube 5\Models is also empty (I don't know if there is any relationship between the two things). The thing is that I can't figure out how to obtain and install the instruments.
Does anyone know how to do this?
On the other hand, when I use one of the presets that comes with the installation, for example this one https://app.screencast.com/WeKR0XztkqZsU?conversation=eMepSxh8Rz2NGKcoAiAGDz , shortly after playing, a kind of pulsating crackling noise appears that comes and goes and increases in intensity. It is very obvious that it does not belong to the selected preset setting. Sometimes it disappears, but when changing to another preset it reappears. When I disconnect the guitar, I can still hear it.
Does anyone know this noise and how can I eliminate it?

Thank you very much for your help

You have the filter turned on to only show you the gear you DO NOT own. It's the little amp icon in the upper right. If you don't know what I mean here's a link to one of my videos with a time link to where I talk about this.

From your description I wouldn't think the noise issue has anything to do with authorization (but I reserve the right to be wrong). When I use something unauthorized in the "try" mode I get white noise at random intervals.

I pulled up the preset you showed in the image, and it was fully authorized by AT5 Max so all those components are authorized. I suspect you are hearing modeled noise that you would hear in the real world. This preset is pretty high gain and it is using a LOT of compression. If you are using a guitar with single coil pickups or have your USB input too high you are going to hear some noise. The easiest test is turn down the volume on your guitar to zero. If the noise goes away that's your answer. If it doesn't then I would suspect something in the AT5 chain. You can always put the Noise Gate pedal in the front of your chain and set the threshold so there is no noise while you aren't playing. It is easy to set the gain on your USB interface too high though. I also have a video on setting your input level accurately.

Another thing to try is turning off the compressor. One final thing is you mention "crackling" which I don’t hear. Wiggle your guitar cable and make sure it isn't causing issues. I think of bad cables as crackling.
