IK MULTIMEDIA PRODUCT MANAGER *Solution*

Hey ya’ll just wanted to talk about what I’ve done to successfully install MODO Drum, MODO Bass, TR5…no issues on Windows 10, worked on Windows 11 as well.
No need to expose your computer by disabling the Firewall and all that.
Note that I use Windows Security. So if you have an extra anti-virus, etc., I’m not sure if you’ll have extra steps.
The process is EASY!!

Step 1: Left-Click IK Product Manager Desktop Shortcut. Select Open File Location. Copy the file path. So you can have access to click IK Product Manager. For example…
C:\Program Files\IK Multimedia\Product Manager (and the app itself is in this folder)

Step 2: Open Windows Security. Click Firewall & network protection. Click on Advanced Settings (usually a blue link at the bottom). Will open “Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security” (there may be an easier way to so this…it’s just how I got to it.)

Step 3: Select Inbound Rules. Under “Actions”, click on “New Rule”.
You should choose as follows.
Rule Type - Program
Program - Paste file from Step 1, and select “IK Product Manager” app. Click next.
Action - Allow the connection
Profile - Select all that apply (I just chose all)
Name - IK Manager

Step 4: Repeat the Process for “Outbound Rules”

NOTE: I had previously had a lot of issues with IK Manager and tried everything in the forums and YT vids. So I went and gave permissions:access to the app (previously mentioned in Step 1) under >Properties>Security. Where you go into security settings and give the app access to write, etc. And I run the app as an administrator. Also, my Windows Security is running fully. I didn’t have to disable the firewall using this process. Also, the App itself, is in “Allow an app through Controlled Folder access”. Although I’m about to uninstall the app and remove everything and just use this single process to see if that fixes everything in one swoop. Without doing so much extra stuff. And this worked once by the way….. Seems everything I did worked for like 4-5 downloads. This is the only thing that I did on my own that I was able to install the final 5 MODO Drum Kits I needed.. sad but yea :/

Step 3:

As I wrote this, things stopped installing.
Under Windows Security I did the following:

>Virus & threat protection settings
>Real-Time protection off
>Cloud-delivered protection…

I’ve been able to download things as of right now very “easily”….
But I have nothing else to download.

Also, I have the sound banks themselves on a 2nd drive I use for libraries.
Sometimes I read that is something that affects installation. But honestly that has never been an issue other than IK Product Manager doesn’t install correctly on the Windows System itself.
