Error Installing Syntronik 2 Max - Won't complete installatn

Hi,

I'm trying to install the full Syntronik 2 Max using IKPM and when the installation completes downloading the Syner-V file I am getting the error below and IKPM freezes. I tried deleting the Syner-V zip file that was just downloaded (in case it was corrupt) and then re-downloading but the exact same error occurred after it downloaded again. As it stands I can't install the rest of the synths after Syner-V because IKPM always freezes at the Syner-V install. Anyone have any idea how to get around this error? At this point I would just be happy to have the rest of the synths install and skip Syner-V. This installation process has been a nightmare and very confusing from the get-go unforutnately.

Here is the error I am seeing every time IKPM tries to install Syner-V:

"A Javascript error has occurred in the main process

Uncaught exception:
Error [ERR_UNHANDLED_ERROR]: Unhandled error. ("Bad archive") at StreamZip.emit (events.js:304.17)"

As this is primarily a user to user forum, someone-else may chip in. But please remember that the same symptoms do not necessarily mean the same problem.

If I understand correctly you ran the Syn2 MAX library installer (All 200 GB or so) in the IKPM and it failed at the Syner-V sounds. Is that correct?
-- could it be that the disk that the IKPM downloads folder is now full?
-- or that the disk with the installed library on it is full?

If the first, you could back up the used download files to free some space. If the latter you'll need to delete or move something-else.

After that you might be able to run IKPM again and install the remaining libraries., probably selecting the "Reinstall library" option. I do not know if that will work as I have never tried it.

In your position, once I had made sure there was enough disk space, I would download the remaining synth sound libraries from my User Area, extract the contents from the download file and run each installer, one at a time.

Having said that the IKPM should fail gracefully and provide a meaningful error message. So, please report the problem to Support. Search the FAQs first, via here. If they do not resolve the issue, there is a red button link to the Technical Support form, for some one to one investigation and help. Response time aims to be within 2 working days (US (East Coast) Business hours, generally), but in the current circumstances please allow some more time.

They should also be able to advise you on the best way to proceed.

And, to help others who run into a similar problem, please let us know what you did to resolve the problem. Please do not quote directly any correspondence from Support, as that may apply only to your particular circumstances and may lead others down the wrong track.

Thanks for the response. I did check the disk space and there's over 300gb left so I don't believe that's the issue. I wanted to try to download the sounds zips from the User Area in my IK account but they seem to have removed that option for Syntronik Max. There's no link to download the sounds individually anymore in your account. I believe I saw that someone else mentioned this in another thread. Anyway I appreciate the suggestions and hopefully I'll hear back from support soon on the issue. If they do resolve the issue I'll post the info here.

Can you see the individual sounds libraries for the synths in the IKPM? If so, amybe you can try those, one at a time?

I had similar problem trying to install Syntronik 2 MAX v2 today. Long write here after much troubleshooting.

I am on Mac Studio M1 Max with Monterey (MacOS12). Never had this problem on my Win10 PC version.
My Mac download path is on an external TB3 drive. My Sound library location is on external TB3 drive.
IK Product Manager allowed Full Disk Access.

Most sound libraries are able to Complete Installation Except 3 items:
Syntronik 2 OXa. (3 DMG files to be downloaded)
Syntronik 2 Polymorph. (3 DMG files to be downloaded)
Syntronik 2 Pro-V. (4 DMG files to be downloaded)

Syntronik 2 OXa case:
While installing, first 2 DMG files (SYN_OXa.dmg, SYN2_OXa.dmg) completed setup. Then 3rd DMG (SYN2_OXa_SL_Update.dmg) was downloaded, and image file is auto opened but nothing happens for next 10 mins. No activity on TB3 drive as seen on drive LED not blinking. We are stuck at “Launching Setup”. Click “Cancel” on Product Manager(PM) and pop-up Error code 107 msg. Restart PM, only left with “Update” next to the PM’s OXa area. Click “Update” and same problem stuck at “Launching Setup. No option to Reinstall.
I will come back to work-around the “Update” option later.

Syntronik 2 Polymorph:
While installing, first 2 DMG files (SYN_Polymorph.dmg, SYN2_Polymorph.dmg) completed setup. Then 3rd DMG (SYN2_PLYM_SL_Update.dmg) was downloaded, and image file is auto opened but nothing happens for next 10 mins. No activity on TB3 drive as seen on drive LED not blinking. We are stuck at “Launching Setup” similar to above.

Syntronik 2 Pro-V:
While installing, first 2 DMG files (SYN_Pro-V.dmg, SYN_Pro-V_Bonus_Sound_Content.dmg) completed setup. Then 3rd DMG (SYN2_Pro-V_SL_Update.dmg) was downloaded, and image file is auto opened but nothing happens for next 10 mins. No activity on TB3 drive as seen on drive LED not blinking. We are stuck at “Launching Setup” similar to above. The remaining 4th File (could be a small dmg file) was Not downloaded.

Work-around the “Update” option:
You can leave the Downloaded IMG files in the same location (my external TB3 drive)
You can delete the OXa, Polymorph, Pro-V items in the Sound libraries. (4 areas for each instrument: Instruments > 53_xxx folder, Library Info > Syn xxx.pak & Syn 2 xxx.pak, Library Resources > xxx.pak, Samples > 53 xxx folder.

Using the original PM installer “ik_product_manager_1.1.4.dmg”. Click Uninstall.app. Choose Not to keep Preference.
Restart/Reboot.
Reinstall “ik_product_manager_1.1.4.dmg”.
Login and and setting all Preference again (Download location, Sound library location as before)
The Authorised Instrument software remains Authorised.
The Complete Installed Sound pack remains Installed.
The OXa, Polymorph, Pro-V sound are now having “Install” option.

However, similar problem “Hanged at Launching Setup” is repeatable for these 3 sounds libraries. No way to avoid.
For OXa and Polymorph, I have decided to force open the 3rd DMG file, can click the “install sound content.app” to complete install.
For Pro-V, I force install the same for 3rd file. But I don’t have remaining 4th file.
Running Syntronik 2 app seems ok. Able to detect the 3 affected sound libraries but not sure what is missing yet..

This is what I have now. Not 100% solved. I will leave that for another day.
Please let me know if anyone has a solution for me.

Syntronik 2 OXa: Just double click "SYN2_OXa_SL_Update.dmg" for manual installation. This will complete the installation. I have confirmed the content to be identical (using file content comparison software) to my Windows10 PC version which does not have installation prob.

Syntronik 2 Polymorph: Just double click "SYN2_PLYM_SL_Update.dmg" for manual installation. I have confirmed the content to be identical to my Windows10 PC version which does not have installation prob.

Note: It was mentioned in various IK forum that the *.pak and *.st3i st4i are content-identical in both MacOS and WindowsOS. But you need an Ex-Fat formatted disk or thumb drive to transfer files.

Syntronik 2 Pro-V: If we open Syntronik 2 app, click Pro-V instrument, Filter -> Syntronik 2, it was observed to be empty with no presets.
From my Windows10 PC, I had to copy the missing Pro-V files & folders from these 3 folders:
Instruments>53__Syntronik Pro-V>Syntronik 2
Library Info>Syntronik 2 Pro-V.pak
Library Resources>Syntronik 2 Pro-V.pak

Note: The Pro-V Samples content (Samples>53 Syntronik Pro-V) are identical between Mac & Windows version.
Now we need to open Syntronik 2 App, got to settings->Library, Rescan All.
Now you should see the Pro-V Syntronik2 Preset.

Now I have 100% presets by borrowing some missing files from my Windows PC version of Syntronik 2 libraries. Case close for me. Moving on..
