Correctly setting gain with Axe I/O One with Ampitube 5

I am looking for some advice (or even a YouTube video) on how to correctly set the gain of my Axe i/o one interface and/or ampitube.

My question is where should I set the gain/input level to get the best clean sound. I can change the gain on the interface and the input / output level of AmpliTube.

Are there any best practices on the levels to set?

The general guideline is to leave the AmplITube 5 input slider as it is, then adjust on your audio interface as so (from the AmpliTube 5 User Manual):

Set your audio device’s input gain so that AmpliTube’s INPUT LEVEL meter is starting to go into the red, then back off just a touch.
