CSR Presets

Postby machinated » Mon Jan 23, 2023 9:06 pm

Just wondering if anyone has managed to recreate any of the original PCM90/91 presets in the CSR plugins. Not the most fun task but would be awesome to have approximations of those available, especially as there aren’t loads of included presets.

Hi Machinated,

I saw your post a few months ago and today I sat down with my PCM90 and CSR Hall to see what is possible. It is interesting to compares the variable names. Below is the variable and value I used (sorry I don't know how to post the preset)

Called this "Deep Blue 1"

I/O

In Level = 0dB
Out Level = 0dB
Mix = 100%
In Image = Stereo
Out Image = Stereo

Time

Reverb time = 2.679 sec
Low time = 1.2x
Crossover = 400Hz
High Freq = 4.4 kHz
High Damp = 23.2 dB
Pre Delay = 0 ms

Reverb

Size = 38.3
Diffusion = 80%
Build Up = 50%
Dispersion = 50%
Modulation = 34%
ModMove = 10.4 ms

Color

Lo Cut Freq = 10.0 kHz
Lo Cut Gain = 0.0 dB
Hi Cut Freq = 5.8 kHz
Hi Cut Gain = 13.0 dB

Reflection

Time left = 36 ms
Level Left = off
Time Right = 34 ms
Level right = off

Lex terms "Spread and Shape" which are numbers I looked at the possible range of each parameter and converted the value in the preset to a percentage.

Let me know what you think.

Ah thanks so much for doing this!

What did you think? do they sound similar?

Looking forward to trying it

Easiest way for me to verify this was to compare to Liquidsonics Reverberate which has a Deep Blue preset. Sounded very close to me! Thanks so much.

Would love if you're able to do a few more (perhaps your favourites?). If possible some of the plates like rich plate and the drum plates would rule. The factory presets are pretty thin on all of them, so any kind of (well designed) presets are very welcome.

Hi All,

Glad it worked. I will look at the preset for the plates you suggested.
However I need to figure out what the following parameters "wander" and "spin" mean and their CSR equivalent and how to implement the modulation in CSR.
