Advanced training times below 10 minutes?

Postby vintagecharlie » Tue Mar 21, 2023 11:02 am

Hey everyone,

has someone managed to get their advanced training time below 10 minutes? Referring only to the training time itself, not the test signals, which of course stay the same in length.

If you have, what are your specs?

Thank you!

I've got RTX 2060, i5 6600K, 16GB ram and advanced training is 18 minutes for me.
From what i gather - RTX + Intel CPU is key. Just wondering what the best possible time is.

That's a nice processing time!
I looked a bit deeper into it, and made a update of the driver to 531.41.
I also used the NVIDIA Experience auto overclocking mode to get +144 MHz and started the training process on advanced again.
I monitored the GPU and CPU while training the model.
I got nearly the same result 26 min. with max. 60 % GPU and 20% CPU load.
The GPU power goes never over 80 Watts, 2055 MHz and 80 FPS :D .
So, a lot of headroom left for other tasks.

I have a
Ryzen 9 5900X
3080 TI
32 GB ram
It's a recently acquired factory refurb Dell Alienware.

I got about 32 mins on Advanced. Immediately after wards I did a Fast training on the same amp. It was less than 3 mins.
I compared both and to my ears there is so little of a difference (if any?) that I will from now on just use the Fast training and enjoy the less than 3 mins to be done. This is much better than my old PC that took 35 mis to do a fast training!
