Tonex: What happens when you try capturing an amp with Fx?

Postby DHolman492 » Sat Dec 17, 2022 1:32 pm

Hi all

I am considering buying tonex but I read it cannot capture fx. Is this for pedals only or does it also apply to amps with fx settings. For example, can I dial in reverb and delay settings I like and capture that tone? (I am not expecting to modify those settings in doing so). Or is this a big no no and you can only capture clean tones?

The tonex doesn't capture time based FX like reverb and delay. Boost type pedals are ok and clean or metal amp tone is up to you. Set your amp the way you like and capture just the amp for best results. Try the free ToneX CS, it doen't let you make captures but you can try out the included models and download 20 Tone models from ToneNet.

If you don't have a reactive load box or the ToneX Captor box you'll need to mic your cab to capture / 4 min of noise.
