Is there any specific guidance on capturing a pedal for TONEX as opposed to an amp? Obviously, the actual process of performing the capture is similar, though since pedals are pretty much by nature things that are intended to interact with amps, whenever I have used an actual dirt pedal with, say, AmpliTube, I end up running it into a specific amp that may be set more dirty or more clean .... So, I guess what I am asking is: is there guidance on how to set a dirt pedal that one wants to capture in TONEX so that it might be as useful to other users who might download the model as possible. Should one capture a range of different settings dialed in on the pedal in separate TONEX models?

I have found, whether you do just a stomp or a complete rig, start with setting up the stomp with your guitar, then use ALL the 'samples' and micro adjust to get the desired tone dialed in for capture. When doing a 'complete rig' get the mic position adjusted first then the amp and finally the stomp. It's all about playing around with tone. I have found that going lighter on the adjustments gives room when playing with the final 'tone model'. The only thing you actually have to contribute is time (uploading to the 'AI').

I have so much LOVE to give...

But every time I try to share my custom made presets with y'all, I get an error "Please save the current preset before sharing on Tone.net".

So I do. Or I switch to a different saved preset without making any changes. And I get the same message when I click on the button to share it.

What DO I do...?

Thought I had figured it out (the presets were saved to Mainstage, not AmpliTube), but when I tried to upload those I got "302: Preset invalid. The preset you are trying to upload contains invalid or not owned gears".

Odd enough, since I just bought the MAX version, and so ostensibly own everything (certainly everything included in the presets I tried to share). In fact, the second preset was relatively simple (just a Mesa amp with a customized cabinet).

What gives?

Hi all,

Here's a link to a video demonstrating some presets, both dirty and clean, that I created for Tonex using sounds such as Wood, Space, Solo, Hammer available inside of Tonex:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHtTQU6MH4Y

The video contains a link to a zip file containing the presets and a contact email address for problems, comments, and questions.

From the manual, it should be possible to use these presets without downloading the Tonex model which I have not yet uploaded to ToneNet, mainly because it's not clear at all to me in which state the model will appear when it's uploaded then downloaded by someone else. I'd rather have some confidence that what is downloaded sounds like what it was intended to sound like.

Regards,
Dave Clark

Are ToneNet Presets free?

Postby Billy86 » Mon Jan 09, 2023 8:57 pm

I ask because I clicked on one, and it wasn't clear if I had to pay for it. If you download a preset you save it locally to your computer, right? Thanks!

I don't know the guy or gal that posted it. Just want to give 'em a shout out and direct more traffic their way in hopes they develop more stuff like it. If you're a VH fan, give this one a test drive.

Where can I find these now? The link is broken.

Hi
Waiting on the Tonex pedal to arrive...worldwide shortage....who knew..
Was wondering is it possible to profile Acoustic amps and has anyone achieved this.
That would be the complete package of an already complete package

Below is the correct link.

Since ToneNET has added TONEX, the link to the Amplitube presets seems to have changed.

Is it cool to share tone models/captures here as well? I just made a high gain capture of my Friedman JJ100 through a Friedman 4x12 w/V30's. It's been getting a lot of likes so far on tone net but feel free to throw some constructive criticism my way. I've profiled a number of my amps for the Kemper but just recently got ToneX.

Let me know what you think.

Hi folks.

I have been using amplitube since last winter and have uploaded a few tonemodels of pedals and some presets. https://www.tone.net/tonex/users/thedewil

Hi all

Just posted 135 SC20H DI profiles covering both the low and high channels.

The one without the number on the front are low pickup input, and the numbered ones are more slightly hot pickups.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share my captures here:

https://www.tone.net/tonex/users/sagaie

These all should sound like I intended when you load them into your tonex pedal with the input trim set to 0dB. I just leave this here as a note of orientation, just set gain to your liking and you are good to go.

So far I have done numerous captures of the Engl Ritchie Blackmore Signature, as well as the only Sunn Beta Lead captures you can find so far.

I'm planning to do more of the Blackmore in the clean/crunch area, but the amp is broken down right now.

Other amps to come are:

- Laney GH50L
- Marshall JVM205H (OD1 Mod)
- Fryette Deliverance D120 Mark I Masterbuilt

Maybe these (I'll have to borrow them):

- Mesa Dual Rectifier 100W
- Bogner Uberschall Rev Green

Also I am open for requests (can't promise anything, but if I can get my hands on it, I will eventually do it).

Any feedback would be really appreciated.
