88 key midi controller suggestions

Postby vac713 » Wed Feb 16, 2022 1:20 pm

Looking to purchase an 88 key midi controller that integrates w ST flawlessly

Considering the following:

M-Audio Hammer 88 Pro
Native Instrument Komplete Kontrol S88
Arturia KeyLab S 88
Roland A-88 MKII

Perhaps overkill for what I'm looking for but I'm new to this so pretty naive

I'm looking for simple..... Don't need software (I have all of IKs software), don't need speakers... All I'm looking to do is use it a a controller for IK products

What I need is realistic keyboard feel. Should I consider FATAR or RPHA?

Love to hear your thoughts

I've been very happy with my M-Audio Oxygen88. It has semi-weighted, touch sensitive keys, which has a great feel to it when playing. It also has 8 sliders, 8 knobs and 8 buttons, all programmable for any CC MIDI usage. And several other functions like pitch bend and Mod wheels.
For me it's great for playing piano and organ VST plugins, and even guitar, drums and bass software instruments feel very natural playing on this keyboard.
I've had it for almost 10 years and it's very sturdy and dependable. Although it's a bit on the heavy side if you have to lug it around. But fortunately I don't play out anymore, so it just stays in my home studio.
