Modo Drum Factory sound content.pak file is missing

Postby jm345 » Fri Mar 04, 2022 7:12 pm

Have full version of Modo Drum. Updated to 1.5. When I open Modo Drum the screen says "Factory Sound content pak file is is missing, please reinstall Modo Drum". I have read other notes on this forum about changing where Drum looks for the files. But the opening screen has no option to alter anything and the only option is to exit. I have reinstalled Dum 1.5 with the same result. Using a MacBook Pro 2019 with the latest version of Catalina.

I fixed it myself. I deleted all the Modo Drum folders and files I could find. Then installed the latest version 1.5. Still had the same exact problem. Then I installed the previous version 1.1.3.
Now Drum seems to working fine.

I have this same problem. Opened a ticket. Didn't quite get a response on the error. Still working with them.

You installed the previous version of MODO Drum, and then did you install the newer 1.5 version again?

I deleted all the Modo Drum folders and files I could find on my Mac. Then I first installed the latest version 1.5. But it didn't fix the problem. So then I downloaded and installed the previous version 1.1.3. Now it works. The previous version is available on their website under "My Products". Then look in Past Releases for Modo Drum.

Thanks very much.
Perhaps I will decide to stick with the older version as well. Ah well.

The latest version is working. I just think you need to have 1.1.3 installed also. The two versions store their files in different places. For some reason installing 1.5 first then installing 1.1.3 worked for me.

Weird. It would seem that installing 1.1.3 after 1.5 would overwrite 1.5 completely.
Working on it now. I'll check it.

I just rechecked and after reinstalling 1.5 I am back to the same problem. Product Manager said to update and I now have the same issue. I don't know why I have so many problems installing IKM products. Very frustrating.

yes, me too.

The installer for 1.5 does NOT work.
The installer for the older 1.1.3 version, however, DOES WORK, but it overwrites 1.5, of course.

I have a ticket open with IK and hopefully they will acknowledge this issue.

The installer for 1.5 works for many, including those who had previous versions. I'm sure IK Support can help you both, and get you to the same fully-installed and working MODO DRUM 1.5 like those folks.

Thanks for your update on the challenge to install 1.5. We have been told there was no need to download any sound files, yet that it what you had to do. I am back to 1.1.3 and will stay there. Product manager says I have an update but I have run it twice which resulted a in locked opening screen for Modo Drum 1.5 where the only option is to exit. If you don't want to buy the 3 new drum kits I am not sure why you would want or need to update to 1.5?

Well, according to one YT vid I saw, the sounds are reworked and better... I haven't yet had a chance to fully dig in though, but it seems like they just might be.

I'd be curious to know if you have the same experience when upgrading, and if you like the sounds any better. But that's just me. I understand wanting to hold off though.

Same issue here 1.5 update locks with "factory sound content pak file missing".

Reinstalled 1.1.3 and mododrum is back working.

I don't see the point opening another ticket for an open issue when multiple people have already done the same.

Please keep us updated as to weather the support get this sorted.

Best of luck!
