I'm the happy owner of an iRig HD2. I need some suggestions regarding good headphones to use with it. At the moment I own low-level headphones (Imp 32 ohm) and an Audio Technica ATH M30X (Imp 47 Ohm Sens 96 dB). When I use the low-level headphones the sound is quite good, very strong, with a good balance between lows mids and highs but are very uncomfortable. When I use the ATH M30X the sound becomes muck weaker and I also need to re-equalize my preset by adding more highs. I improved the sound using a small headphone preamp.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or is the ATH M30X not good enough? Or a headphone preamp is always needed? Could you share your experience?
