Hammond B3X seems to be causing Mainstage 3.5.x to crash

Postby Darug2290 » Sat Jul 17, 2021 7:09 am

I was running Mainstage 3.5.0 on an R7 Ryzentosh without any issues, and I had it running on a Macbook Air, though it was starting to struggle with the 5GB file. I decided I would buy a Macbook Pro M1, and thought this would last for years, however, every time I load my file (and the last few saves, it gives an error - MainStage 3(13583,0x10499bd40) malloc: *** error for object 0x130b94310: pointer being freed was not allocated
I posted it on the Mainstage Forumhttps://discussions.apple.com/thread/252935060, but no luck.
I downloaded 3.4.4 which worked, however it would say it couldn't find DeEsser 2, and it was taking longer than expected to load, and would sometimes hang.
I did a complete Erase, and reload of the system, and started with the basics. I downloaded the latest version from Apple MAc Store. When I enabled the Hammond Organ and 2 other synth plugins, the file would crash. I tried taking out the plugins, and eventually I have it running with an older version of my file, however it says the Hammond organ has failed validation (yet the plugin still seems to work.
Looks like I have lost 3 months worth of work on about 30+ songs. The Hammond version is 1.3.3 so all should be fine version wise.

You may not have lost your recent work.

As this is primarily a user to user forum, someone-else may chip in. But please remember that the same symptoms do not necessarily mean the same problem.

Meanwhile, the best thing to do is contact Support, via here. There is a link at the top of the Search FAQs page to the Technical Support form, for some one to one investigation and help. Response time aims to be within 2 working days (US (East Coast) Business hours, generally), but in the current circumstances please allow some more time.

And, to help others who run into a similar problem, please let us know what you did to resolve the problem. Please do not quote directly any correspondence from Support, as that may apply only to your particular circumstances and may lead others down the wrong track.

------------------------------
PS: it would be best to change your Account Name away from an email address, to minimise the chance of it being harvested by web bots and you receiving all sorts of 'special offers', bank account verification requests, Internet Disconnection notifications, Amazon Prime renewals, Ray-Ban sunglasses, tax refunds etc from all over the place for years and years. You can change it here.

Hi, I did what you said. Only 1 response being that

Thanks for your patience while we got back to you.
Thank you for your patience.
We have contacted our team about your situation.
Please stand by.

I also tried changing my account name but it would't.

Although your problem may look the same, the cause is not necessarily identical. Please contact Technical Support, via the link above.

I just wish this patch would still not crash my M1 MAcbook, when using Mainstage. I reformatted this brand new unit. Same issue.

I requested a refund - no response. I was going to take advantage of the Syntronik 2 offer, but don't want to waste more dollars

Is there a safe mode to boot Mainstage in, so it doesn't autoload everything and crash?

Did you have any luck. I am hesitant to try it, or purchase anything else. I asked for a refund. no response.
I did download previous illegal versions, and it worked!
However, if I paid for legitimate software, I should be able to take advantage of the latest versions etc

Seems to work okay by itself.

When loading Mainstage I get
PUBLISHED PARAMETER INFO:

# # # 153 Global Scope Parameters:
ERROR: Parameter values are different since last set - probable cause: a Meta Param Flag is NOT set on a parameter that will change values of other parameters.

I am trying to contact IK support but I get messages saying invalid characters!!!!!

Can you try it in any other DAW?

You can Reply to any email from Support related to this problem, with this new info.

Or if you use the Technical Support form, avoid using any non-alphanumeric character and most symbols. Months ago, I asked Support to improve that "invalid characters" error message so that we could remove them.

In addition to MainStage, I can confirm that version 1.3.4 is crashing Cubase 12 consistently.

Please report the crash details to Tech Support; that may help them track down the problem.

PS I embedded the report in "code" tags" to make the thread easier to read.e
