Hello phenix992

It might help if you tell us what equipment you are trying to connect together ie what pedalboard and what sound card?

i have an axe i/o

I could insert my 2 guitar cables of my stereo EHX epitome 3 in the lines inputs of my previous sound card

for a stereo mode for my recordings with my Daw

I don't think the axe I/o can do that

Inputs 1 & 2 on the back of the AXE IO are mic and line level on XLR and 1/4" jack.

Sorry phenix992, I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at.

For clarity, inputs 1 & 2 on the rear of the AXE IO unit can take either XLR connections or jack connections. The relevant input levels that these expect to see are mic level and line level respectively.

From the AXE IO manual, page 6, as a key to the diagram of the rear of the unit:

"8. MIC/LINE IN 1 and 2 - XLR Combo type input sockets - connect microphones or line level signals."

So, you can take jack outs from your pedal and plug these into rear connections 1 & 2. Generally 1 will be the left signal and 2 will be the right.

However, as these are expecting the input to be 'line level' and the output of your pedal is most probably 'instrument level' (as it would normally go into a guitar amp input) you might find that the signal is a little underpowered.

If you have both of the pieces of hardware, I would suggest the best thing to do is just connect them together and see what happens. At worst, you'll get a weak and unusable guitar signal going into the AXE IO due to impedance mismatch. At best, the AXE IO can compensate by adding gain and it will all work as you want it to.

But the two front inputs 1 & 2 are Instrument/Hi-Z. Note that only Input 1 on the front has the Z-TONE circuit, though.

Agreed, but I thought that the Z-TONE circuit on only one channel would definitely cause a tonal imbalance, so didn't think it would be worth trying.

Is there a way to make both Hi-Z inputs essentially a flat instrument input?

Yes, set the switch to "Pure":
PURE: a completely transparent and ultra-accurate instrument preamp that won’t color
your sound in any way.

Good to know for future queries.

I don't own the interface myself. Hopefully the OP will come back to the thread and let us know how they're getting on.

what I know is I had a Line 6 ux 2 as a sound card and I played in a stereo mode with the 2 line inputs at the back of my sound card
so with 2 guitar cables and with a Mimiq tc electronic
it can sound like 2 guitars with only one

The back of the Axe I/o can't do the same but here
a man told me it could work (before I buy it)
so

I tried the 2 cables (not in the front panel ) but it did not work

my 2 cables for my speakers work

I really think there are not 2 line inputs for my guitar cables in stereo mode

I don't to want to play like 2 players : guitar bass at the same time
just stereo mode

The best thing to do is contact Support, via here. If Searching the FAQs does not help there is a red button link to the Technical Support form, for some one to one investigation and help. Response time aims to be within 2 working days (US (East Coast) Business hours, generally), but in the current circumstances please allow some more time.

And, to help others who run into a similar problem, please let us know what you did to resolve the problem. Please do not quote directly any correspondence from Support, as that may apply only to your particular circumstances and may lead others down the wrong track.
