iRig Firmware Updater inop on macOS Big Sur

Tried doing the ver 1.8 firmware update on my iRig HD2 but the iRig Firmware Updater app will not work on my MacBook Pro. I get a message that "the developer needs to update the app".

I did submit a ticket to IKM Support, but was wondering if anyone else has previously had this issue, and whether there was a fix or workaround.

Currently on a mid-2015 MacBook Pro, macOS Big Sur ver. 11.4

I just downloaded the iRig Firmware Updater to my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), macOS Big Sur, version 11.6. It runs, sort of. It does not automatically detect the iRig HD 2 and it offers to "Update" every time it gets detected (when I click "search device") although I updated several times. It would be nice if it showed the current version and the available version.
