Delay on AXE I/O order

Postby Patrickgeorge » Sat Mar 13, 2021 9:43 pm

Maybe I missed something about their current supply, but I purchased the Amplitube 5/AXE I/O interface bundle over a week ago and my order still hasn't shipped. Did anyone who purchased that have that happen too? Maybe they were on back order?

I ordered the AmpliTube 5 + Axe I/O bundle one month ago,
waited 2 weeks then contacted support and was told the
Axe I/O is back ordered.

Global supply issues with key components was the reason
given for the delay.

Same, ordered mid february. It's worse when the store very explicitly said available in february with a ship date of 3-5 business days with ZERO backlog notifications in checkout and I'm sitting here mid march getting a response from support saying it's backordered, no date provided.

First purchase from IK Multimedia and probably going to be the last if the date keeps getting pushed out, the lack of transparency is awful.

Sorry to hear that you had a delay in your order. Have you reached out to IK Support about it? They should have the most up-to-date information and can look directly at your order/account whereas the mods/admins or users of this forum cannot.

I think a batch of Axe I/O interfaces must have made it out of the factory.
My order is now showing a FedEx tracking number and a delivery date of
next Tuesday.

I took a look at Sweetwater and GuitarCenter's sites and they
are not saying that the product is back ordered anymore. A couple
weeks ago when I checked they were backordered on those sites.

I am also waiting for mine to ship. I entered a ticket and hope to get a reply with some ETA soon. For now, I will keep using my noisy Rocksmith USB cable.

I placed my order on 3/27/21 - Paid extra for 2 day shipping - I'm charged full price and - Still have not received my AXE I/O. I email them at least 1x every other week, they still tell me it's back ordered.

Has anyone received their delayed unit? I got a reply from support saying "Unfortunately we do not have an exact time frame in regards to when new units will be arriving, however we are expecting them to arrive fairly soon. You will be notified via email once your order has been shipped."
Hopefully "fairly soon" is faster than I believe it will be.

Argh, I actually finally pulled the trigger on an AXE I/O because I happen to be in the US at present (I usually live overseas), and only then heard about this issue after.

I'll check with Support after the 3-5 day interval passes, but if no fairly firm dates for shipping are known I'll have to cancel my order, since it won't do me much good if it arrives after I've left the country! :(

I have been waiting a month. The average seems to be 2 months to receive delivery from the handful I have spoken to here.

Wow, two months .... Well, in my situation, I couldn't wait that long even if I wanted to! I'll have to bother Support and ask for a cancelation. :(

Ha, though I had to cancel my direct order with IK Multimedia (Support were very understanding about it), I managed to score a unit through Reverb.com -- and it has already arrived! :D So at least when I fly home from the US, I'll be hauling a new AXE I/O with me.

I got a snazzy expression pedal from Mission Engineering to go with it; weighs a frickin' ton  but has that solid, old-school wah-pedal feel, so I hope that works out! Once I actually get all this back to where my guitars are, I look forward to trying it out and reporting in on it.
