Miroslav 2 Philharmonik sounds will not install

I have just purchased Miroslav 2.

I'm running Big Sur.

The player installs OK, but all of the sound installers fail with 'unexpected error.'

Is this a Big Sur compatibility issue or something else?

As per this FAQ, although not officially compatible it appears that most software should work under Big Sur.

I would suggest opening a ticket with Official IK Support who will be able to help you with your issue or give you some kind of workaround.

Hi teo-torriate,
I solved the problem with help from support.
You have to do a manual install of the sounds.
The vital piece of knowledge here is that the Miroslav player is Sample Tank 3 with a different skin.

Here's what support sent me:

It's not a really coherent answer because Miroslav 2 IS Sample Tank 3 so moving the sounds into Sample Tank 4 folder won't work.

You need to unpack the sounds and move them into the volume and subvolume structure that Miroslav player (Sample Tank three) expects.

It's a pain and took me a while to figure out how to merge in updates but it does work.

Wouldn't it be nice if they updated Miroslav to be Sample Tank4 with a new skin?

Even at the reduced price, I paid I would expect it all to be easier than it was.

thanks a lot for your support! The problem is that I'm not able to unpack the sounds. When I try to unpack one of the five sound packages there is an "unexpected error". The same issue with some missing sound files in Syntronik... But that's another story.

I think it's a global problem with MacOS Big Sur (Version 11.1) or something else. All sound packages (Miroslav Philharmonic and Syntronik) can't be opened / installed.

So I hope the support will have answers for me.

Yeah to get the sounds manually you can open the zip file (or pkg file) and move them out

When I double klick one of the the *.zip-files, the file is getting unzipped. I get a folder including two files and a another folder:
- Install Miroslav Philharmonik 2 Sound Content.app (Mac)
- Install Miroslav Philharmonik 2 Sound Content.exe (Windows)
- Miroslav Philharmonik 2 Sound Content (Folder)

In the folder there are no pkg-files, only st3i-files (in folder "Instruments") and pak-files (in folder "Samples").

When I double klick the app-file I get an "unexpected error". I will wait for an answer from the support team.

If you go into the - Miroslav Philharmonik 2 Sound Content (Folder)

you will see all the sound file volumes and subvolumes. You can then copy them from there to the location where you have installed the Player.

If you look in the player you will find the volume where it expects the sound files to be is specified there.

I think support will probably start by sending you what they sent me.

Have the same problem. The installer won't run and have been trying to figure out where to put the files. The directory structure is nested to 4 levels of instrument folders, have not been able to get any instruments to appear whilst moving them to different locations. Is good value software but this is a lot of hassle just to get it to work. Are there any explicit instructions on how to manually install the files ?

OK, so creating your own library folder and putting it all in there as it is in the installation folders, seems to work.
