Amplitube 5 VST won't load in Cubase 11

Has anyone successfully loaded Amplitube 5 as a VST in Cubase?

I installed and authorized Amplitube 5 on a new iMac using IK Product Manager. Then I attempted to load Amplitube as an insert in Cubase and it failed with a dialog saying "This plug-in has been moved to the blocklist. 32-bit plug-ins are no longer supported."

Subsequent attempts to load Amplitube 5 in Cubase cause Cubase it to crash.

Setup:
IK Product Manager 1.0.2.
Amplitube 5
Cubase 11 Pro
macOS Catalina 10.15.7
iMac 2020 5K

I am sorry to hear about the problems you are running into.

AT5 is NOT a 32-bit plug-in. I do not know what has convinced Cubase that it is.

As this is primarily a user to user forum, someone-else may chip in. But please remember that the same symptoms do not necessarily mean the same problem.

I opened a ticket regarding this issue two weeks ago, but I have not heard a word from IK Multimedia. Below is the crash report from Cubase ... it seems to be an issue with the AmpliTube 5 plug-in.

I've been experiencing the same issue.

As soon as I launch Amplitube 5 as an insert, Cubase 11 crashes.
I also get an error saying the AmpliTube 5 plugin has been added to the Blocklist and that 32 bit plugins are not supported.

Amplitube 5 launches fine on its own as a standalone.
I'm using a MacBook Air (Retina 13" 2019) and OSX 11.2.3

I've tried Amplitube 5 on 2 other computers (Win 10 Dell Precision and a Mac mini mid 2010 running High Sierra) and it works fine with no crashes.

I've tried clean installs of both Cubase and Amplitube and It still crashes on my MacBook Air.

I have a ticket open with IK but so far no headway has been made regarding the issue.

Hopefully they'll have an answer soon.

UPDATE: Although not ideal, I found a workaround for this.
I created a new user on my Mac and the issue no longer persists when using that profile.
This doesn't address the underlying problem with the main profile I use, but at least it does not appear to be an issue with my hardware.

This is a well-worn technique for fault finding on macOS. The fact that it works as expected in a new profile generally suggests you have something corrupt on your main profile, probably in a Preference file, rather than it being an issue specific to Cubase or AT5.

Not that I know of. It's a very blunt tool I'm afraid, but a good one as a first step to hunt down possible problems. Like I said before, it could be a preference file that has become corrupted but even then there could be more than one causing the problem, so even deleting one and letting the software rebuild on next open might not solve anything. Sometimes it's just quicker to start a new profile and move on with life :lol:

The guidance from Cubase tech support was to delete profiles and let the software rebuild, and indeed, it solved nothing. Like @homsar, I was able to run AT5 in Cubase 11 on a different machine. I have the same problem -- using Cubase 11 in Windows 10.

AmpliTube 4 loads and is shown in the Media Bay FX list (under Others), but AmpliTube 5 is missing from there, but shows up in the "Distortion" list. However, trying to use it causes Cubase to freeze.

I also had the "Blocklist" problem with AmpliTube 5 at startup.

Can someone help?

Amplitube 5 VST3 is not working in my Cubase Elements 12 neither, under Windows 11. Is placed in the same folder with the other VST plugins.
