What to backup? [Resolved]

The rules state that I have to backup SampleTank sounds because I would not be able to redownload them later. However, it is not clear to me what exactly I have to backup - the assortment of .zip files in Downloads folder or the installed SampleTank3/4 folders?

Hello there and welcome to the forums.

You can chose to back up either really, both are valid although with caveats.

If you backup the zipped files it will save space on your backup drive, but you will have to go through the extraction and validation if you need to reinstall.

If you backup a copy of the installed AT3 and 4 content folders it will take up more space, but will save time if you have to use the backed up data. You will just need to copy/paste from your back up to the new installation/drive. I have my IK content backed up this way.

Hope that helps.
